• Blood – shows his guilty conscience from killing Duncan, he feels like he is
trapped by blood.
• Animals – Snake represents the future, dogs represent the different types
of men around Macbeth (Greyhounds, mongrels, spaniels, curs) and these

• Night – every murder committed has been at night, it is a dark time. Night
represents evil.
