Anglais - Write a letter of complaint
1. 18 octobre 2011 [LETTER OF COMPLAINT – Elise FAUVEL]
Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my concern about a Hirsute Homme’s advert I recently saw, published on
page 87 of your September 11’s issue.
I am referring to the advertisement which shows a man in his forties, running his fingers through his
hair. According to Hirsute Homme, the brand found out “an incredible new anti-hair-loss treatment”.
I tried it, a few months ago, and now I can tell : Hirsute Homme lies. People are fed up with brands
and their misleading adverts, which promise the moon and the stars.
Moreover, the impact that this kind of advertisements is making on the middle-aged people’s
morale and self-confidence, especially on those introverted ones, is devastating. Not only do they
have to face their aging, but they now must be subjected to the Cult of Eternal Youth, even in their
favorite magazine.
Therefore, I urge you to remove it from your next issues. I am a regular reader of your magazine and
it is a great shame to find untruthful adverts, especially in a review which deals with health and
wellness.
I have already made a written complaint to the advertising company. I enclose a copy of this letter
for your reference.
Yours faithfully,
John DRAPER
