1. During the Research & planning, construction and evaluation I have used a
number of media technology to showcase and present my work, These are as

2. During my Research& planning phase I had predominantly used Google and YouTube, this is
because I had research into similar or existing products which allowed me to get a better
insight into trailers as this was part of the task, I had chosen four trailers which where of
different genres, following this I was able to be a critic and reviewed each trailer on genre,
shot types, lighting and impact on audience, by using these technologies I was able to
research products, if I did not have these technologies then I am unable to do so, to input
the existing trailers, I had used Microsoft PowerPoint to showcase my findings and what
my thoughts where on the overall trailer, following this to I had used slideshare, which
allowed me to present my work in slides as I was unable to do it straight from Microsoft
PowerPoint, the code which I copied and pasted into wordpress showed up clearly, this
technology allowed me to show all my finding and put it into one blog. Another technology
I had used for my research and planning was Prezi, this is a web-based presentation, which
like slide share allowed me to input information but in a different style, this was key
because if I did not have access to this then all my work would be word formatted.

3. Adobe premier pro
This software allowed me to produce my trailer, if I did not have access to this then I am unable to
create an effective trailer, Premier pro was the main software required, I was able to edit the clips to my
liking, so if I wanted I could cut down the length of the clips to make it fast paced. I am also able to
make transitions such as dip to black, dip to white, cross fade and other techniques. Premier pro offered
and ensured that my trailer was finished to a high standard, it was imperative that these aspects where
available within the programme, if this was not available, then my trailer would be poor and will look as
they are a bunch images just placed beside each other, so by implementing the transitions I am able to
make the trailer professional. Throughout the creation of the trailer there where a number of issues
which I faced this includes not loading the scenes appropriately and some scenes are not appearing on
the page, this was time consuming and eventually I worked out what was required to solve the issue
Slideshare
I have used slideshare to showcase a considerable amount of information into an easy format to
view. I have used Slideshare in my evaluation and construction & development phase to show my
use of shots which I have not included as well as the technology which I used in this post to show
my use of ICT in research. As well as this I have included another evaluation which illustrates the
similar conventions and whether I have disregarded or not.It has been extremely advantageous as
I have used PowerPoint to create text and include images and then uploaded it to slideshare so it
can be viewed on my blog. This made my blog look neater and professional as all the elements
can be clearly seen

4. Prezi
This was another tool which I used predominantly during my research and development, this allowed
me present my work more effectively, rather than a standard piece of text, It is a presentation tool
which allows me to insert information and images adequately, this was another way to format
information which proved to be successful, all I needed to do is copy the correct code and paste into
my blog.
Adobe Photoshop
This was another software which I used mainly for my ancillary texts, I had to construct the
magazine and the poster as it had all the necessary tools which allowed me to create these
successful products, Photoshop allowed me to develop my original plans that I roughly drafted on
paper, which stated where I will locate each element , using Photoshop I was able to edit the bases
of both the magazine and poster, which were the pictures I used. I changed a number of things this
includes the brightness, colour and the edits itself This allowed my images to stand out more and
look more suitable to the genre of my trailer. For e.g. I had to edit the title where I added a block and
the inner glow which made it stand out and look attractive. Photoshop allowed me to add different
layers. I added different layers to ensure that I can input all the information appropriately. Different
tools also include, erasing, lasso tools, cropping and air brush tools to gain the required poster or
magazine effect I wanted. I did not have much of an issue with this particular software as I had
previously used this software and had an advantage when it came to creating the ancillary texts

5. Camera- Cannon
This was used throughout the whole course and is the main technology needed, for my research and
development phase I had used a camera to take images of similar products which I would gain
information from, this was crucial as I would be unable to complete the task efficiently without it, the
next phase I had to take images of my draft plan and take other notes which where in relation to my the
constructions and development, it was important to show the stages which I had taken to from my
original plans to the main product, otherwise there is no evidence to show this, following this the main
trailer which was part of the task required a camera to take all the scenes, without it I am unable to take
the shots for my trailer, the quality of the camera was very good as it allowed me to take the images
which where of high quality, this in turn makes my trailer look as effective as possible and professional,
again I did not have any issues regarding using the camera, as I have used it previously used it, all the
buttons where easy to configure and work out- this being the main part of the camera.
Computer and laptop
This was most necessary as I had to use this for my research, construction and evaluation, this
was the main element which was required as without it no information can be displayed, the
laptops where also used, this is because I was able to complete work out of school time, this was
imperative as I had to ensure that I have completed the task on time and meeting deadlines, I
had used the standard computers for my research and development phase and had used the
apple Macs to create my trailer, so this was very essential, I did not have much problems
regarding the computers apart from the school ones which often froze and I had to restart the
programme.
