The memorandum of cooperation with Georgian Forest Agency has been prepared and signed on August 17, 2010.. According to the memorandum, IUCN, in the framework of ENPI FLEG program, will provide technical assistance to the newly established Forest Agency in increasing its communication capacity. In the framework of the Agreement the external communication strategy will be developed for the Agency which includes creation of main communication messages, analysis of target audience and advertisement channels, development of methodology to evaluate the effectiveness of the communication strategy. The Agency website and the brandbook will be also prepared The guideline bases on FAO guidelines of best code of forest harvesting adopted to the Georgian reality The projects wil support to local communities in strengthening their capacity for revenue collection from utilization of timber and non-timber forest products. Four pilot projects will be implemented.
