Ibizastaff: How did you find ibiza?
Enzo Distaso: The first time was in 1980, when I
went off of the boat as soon as I put down the foot
and touched the island I felt a strong vibration,
as if the island was alive and I think that was the
moment that ibiza choose me, ‘cause as the legend
teaches ibiza decide if you are suitable for you or
not and now I believe it. Then in 1998 I decided
to enjoy life and live by the sea and from Milano I
moved here, I changed my way of appreciating life
more nature, sport, the sea and freedom.
Ibizastaff: What you’ve done all these years?
Enzo Distaso: I organized and collaborated in the
production of television programs, most notably
IBIZA aired on TV La7 with Andrea Pellizzari
and DJ Claudio Coccoluto, we made great parties
at Particular in Cala Jondal and the club Going in
Sa Punta, Talamanca. Organized radio programs
live from Ibiza: Radio Italia Network (RIN) “wel-
come to the jungle” with Marco Biondi. I made a
program with DJ Fabrice Colombani “buena onda
ibiza”, speaker and organizer. I organized with
Rodiomontecarlo “Teomondiale”, live program
from ibiza about world football championship,
with Teo Teocoli and then I dedicated myself to
the sport, muay thai and boxing, with the two of
my most great teachers: Rodrigo Bobes Garcia,
master of muay thai and Gino, teacher and found-
er of gym “ginoboxingteam”.
I have so many plans for the future, supported
by my great friend Rodrigo and Ibiza fight team,
with the cooperation of the people from Ibiza that
give me the energy to continue to believe that ibi-
za is a magical island, amazing, special, fantastic
island.
Ibizastaff: why you decide to publish a mag-
azine?
For many reasons, first of all to know Ibiza, the
real island, then to give information to people who
arrive on the island and they don’t know the real
Ibiza. Beaches, clubs, restaurants, day and night
life, sports.
Provide a service to those who want to organize
spectacular events and sports, radio, television,
fashion, video, photo shooting, etc...... ‘cause ibiza
is a spectacular location for any type of activity.
Ibizastaff: But I see that also you speaks
about Thailand?
Yeah, ‘cause now I decided to live in Thailand 7
months and 5 to ibiza, always in the sun, warm
and happy people, smiling, from May to late Sep-
tember in Ibiza and from October to late April in
Thailand, also because Ibiza and Thailand are
similar in some ways, sports, entertainment,

night life, friendly people and live in both coun-
tries with respect for the nature and culture.
So this magazine is ideal for people who want to
go to Ibiza for holiday or business, but also for the
people who want travel in Thailand. And then, fi-
nally, I publish this magazine for thank you to all

Ibizastaff: Future projects?
Enzo Distaso: Promote the island so the people
start to really know and enjoying the holidays,
beaches and sports. I will organize training box-
ing and Ibiza fight summer camp with the support
of my teachers Gino for boxing and Rodrigo for
muay thai, music and sport events on the beach,
shows, programs, and all that will be useful for
the positive image of the island because IBIZA
is: sea, beaches,sport, music and fashion. This is
a message to all the sponsors or those who want
to organize a sport or spectacular event. With my
staff we will take care of you, with seriousness,
prefessionality and honesty.

PLAYA D’EN BOSSA
Location: close to ibiza town
Size: 2 km long, 20/30 m wide
Playa d’ en bossa is located in San Josep but we locate-it
into ibiza section because is close to Ibiza town. You can
find a varieties of scenes: super trendy, chill out, fashion
and party. The water is clear and ideal for ball-games
and safe for young children. In this beach there are the
most famous bar and beach clubs of the island.Ushuaia,
beach hotel club for trandy people. No Name, typical
chiringuito of wood. Bora Bora, house music and party
beach. And many other that you can discover. Do not
forget to try the home made cake and lovely coffee at
Buenaonda Cafe, close to Nirvana Fitness.

TALAMANCA BEACH
Location: next to ibiza town.
Size: 900 m long, 25 m wide
Talamanca is a long curved beach with white sand,
passing over with a lovely and romantic promenade,you
can join to do many activities, sports, beach volley
or just chill out on the beach. Full of bar and restau-
rant, when you arrive the first bar is Bar Flotante,
typical bar ibizenco, where you can eat or drink some-
thing directly on the sand. Hostal Talamanca, great
food and drink. A small chiringuito where u can lis-
ten music and drink a mojito on the beach. Walk un-
til the end over the promenade and you will have
very good choice of bars and restaurants and don’t
forget to eat a fresh sea food at the wood restaurant
called 4 Latas on the end of Sa Punta, on the rocks.

PLAYA DE SES SALINES
Location: 15 minutes drive from ibiza town
Side: 1.5 km long, 30 m. wide
Las Salinas (Ses Salines) is the most famous beach of the island
with very long white sandy beach, the water is crystal clear. During
the high season the exclusive bars (called Chirinquito) play summer
music all the day and serve cocktails right to your sunbed. The most
famous bars are: Malibu, trendy luxury bar, Jockey, fashion bar, Sa
Trinxa, nudist and party beach with groovy sound all day long.
PLAYA D’ES CAVALLET
Location: 15 minutes from ibiza town
Side: 1 km long, 30/40 m wide (Official nudist beach)
Es Cavallet is a fantastic picturesque beach with wild natural sand
dunes surrounded by green hills. The most famous bar is Chiringay,
a much-frequented destination of gay tourists and celebrities.
CALA DE COMTE
Location: 9 km away from Sant Josep.
Side: 600 m long and 30m wide
There are several small coves, located in a natural environment of amazing
beauty. You will be able to gaze at the colourful spectacle of the sun at sun-
set, with the small islands of s´Espartar, des Bosc and sa Conillera as silent
witnesses. The combination of sand brightness and the reflection of the sun
on its turquoise waters make this place a real heaven at any time of the year
and one of the best beaches of Ibiza.
CALA D’HORT
Location: 9 km away from Sant Josep and 22 km away from Ibiza.
Side: 200 m long and from 15 to 30 m wide
Fantastic white sandy beach and transparent waters, protected by
steep cliffs, from which you can enjoy the awesome sight offered by
the impressive silhouette of the small islands of Es Vedrà and Es
Vedranell. On these beaches you will feel the magic of this legendary
place. Mike Oldfield got the inspiration for the album
“tubular bells”.

CALA JONDAL
Location: 20 minutes from ibiza town (the way to airport)
Side: 225 m long, 15 m wide
The Cala Jondal is a very beautiful trandy beach, sur-
rounded by pines, bars, restaurants and cristal water.
From sandy beach to go to sea there is not confortable
way to go in because of the stones but after you can
swim in a turquoise sea and this make you feel happy,
swim and listen the bars play lounge music. The most
famous bar is Blue Marlin, every sunday before sunset
there are many artist that performance live music.
CALA BASSA
Location: 8 km away from Sant Josep.
Side: 250 m long and 35 m wide.
A natural swimming pool, considered one of the most
beautiful beaches of the islands because of its crystal
waters, the quality of the sand and the leafy wood of ju-
nipers, pine trees and tamarinds all around. This beach
is the perfect place for someone who wants a relaxing
holiday.
CALA D’ES CODOLAR
Location: 7,5 km away from Sant Josep. Side: 70 m long and 40 m wide.
Small and peaceful, east oriented. It is located in a cove, protected from winds and swell,
perfect for relax with its wonderful view and transparent blue waters. It is a stone beach
and there is a fantastic Chiringuito called Soul Beach. It is a lounge bar and restaurant
where you can enjoy tasty dishes, fantastic cocktails and lay down on its sunbeds, listen
to music and spend great days. Every Sunday they play live music and they host special
performances.

SA CALETA
Location: 9 km away from Sant Josep
Side: 180m long.
A fishermen cove excellent for families, of small size
where there is a predominance of dry-dock stalls. Closed
and very protected from winds it is a place popular
among people of Ibiza who like to spend there sunny
days, bathing among friends and family in its crystal
waters, perfect for snorkelling. On the right side of the
beach there is another quite beach rarely visited, not
far from main beach. You can also visit the rest of the
nearby Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta, declared
Word Heritage Site. The restaurant is fantastic with
his famous Paella and don’t forget to try the coffee “Sa
Caleta”.

RECOMMENDED BEACHESDAY LIFE SAN JUAN
CALA DE SAN VICENTE
Location: 31 km away from Ibiza.
Size: 390 m long and 30 m wide.
This large beach is ideal for families with children, safe and
crystal waters, great for swimming, snorkelling and relax on the
beach. From the nearby promontories you can enjoy the unfor-
gettable view. Take the chance to visit the Punic Sanctuary of
Sa Cova des Culleram, the views from there are superb.

CALA PORTINATX
Size: 170 m long and 70 m wide (s’Arenal Gros) • 60 m long and
50 m wide (s’Arenal Petit) • 35 m long and 40 m wide (Port de
Portinatx).
When you arrive at Portinatx there are 3 beaches with different
names: s´Arenal Gros, the main one, s´Arenal Petit, the smaller
one and the fishermen harbour located at the end of the road,
good for diving, snorkelling or just sit at the Chiringuito and
enjoy this quite place. Around the port there are many restau-
rants, bars, shops and, on Sundays, a small hippy market. The
old Torre of Portinatx is not far.

PUERTO DE SANT MIGUEL
Location: 4 km away from Sant Miguel.
An important tourist place has developed around this beach, fre-
quented by families and it offers all necessary services to enjoy
all its possibilities. Perfect to play sea water sports, it has good
restaurants where you can taste the best of the islands´gastron-
omy. Do not miss a visit to Cova de can Marça (on the right side
of the beach). From here you can take boat taxi to go to Pas de
s’illa (easy way to reach this paradisiac beach).

CALA D’EN SERRA
Size: 45 m long and 30 m wide
This is a piece of paradise in Ibiza. Located in a unique envi-
ronment, surrounded by cliffs and vegetation, you will find this
small cove of transparent and quiet waters with amazing views.
You will also find a lovely Chiringuito where you can taste great
food and nice cocktails. From there you can swim to a lonely
cove: a paradise for lovers.

CALA XARRACA
Location: 27 km away from Eivissa.
This is the first beach on the way to portinatx, you can
enjoy the fantastic view from the top and the crystal wa-
ters. If you have the opportunity, make a boat trip along
the littoral and discover the coves nearby. Great place
for snorkling. The beach have sunbeds and parasols.

CALA BENIRRAS
Location: 25 km away from ibiza town
Better know by local veteran fishermen as port of Be-
nirras because of its structure as a closed bay, protected
from strong wings, it is located in a natural place and
the beach is ideal for swim, take sun and snorkling, or
just lay doen on sunbed and enjoy this great place. The
magical presence of the small island Cap Bernat, that
look like a queen sit on the sea, make this palce really
special. Every sunday the hippies play drums and dance
on sunset time, fantastic.

CALA XUCLA
Another option is to escape from the most touristic
beaches and enjoy the calm of this sandy beach sur-
rounded by rocks and small caves. You can practice
snorkelling and have an intimate look at the richness
of the underwater fauna and flora of the area. Take the
chance to taste the local seafood in the small restaurant
on the beach, and to explore the numerous peaceful
walking paths.

PAS DE S’ILLA
Location: 3,3 km away from Sant Miquel (way to puer-
to san miguel, turn left to na xamena and you will see
on the right the indication.
This beach connects Illa Des Bosc (Isla Ferradura) with
the island of Ibiza. Because of this peculiar circumstanc-
es it has two coasts: one southeast oriented, looking to-
wards the open sea, and one on inside that is normally
the most popular because of its quite sandy beach and
crystal waters. There is a traditional wodden Chiringui-
to, where you can try delicious grilled steaks, fantastic
salads and sandwiches (open until 5 pm). It is a nice
place for a nap on the beach.

CALA SALADA
PUNTA DE SA GALERA
PUNTA DE SA GALERA
Location: 4 km away from Sant Antoni
Cala Galera and Sa Punta Galera. Also known as Cala
Yoga, because it is a main destination for people who
practise meditation and yoga. It is located at the bottom
of a cliff made of huge stone slabs of different sizes. It
used to be a quarry, and the remaining stone terraces
are today a perfect place for sunbathing and for a swim
in its crystal waters. If you are looking for peace and
silence, this should be your first choice.
CALA SALADA
Location: 4 km away from Sant Antoni
This beach has a bigger cove and smaller one called Cala
Saladeta, which is more beautiful and quiet. Its rocky
cliffs were used by fishermen of the area to shelter their
boats. Peaceful and friendly, it offers plenty of corners
where you can relax admiring the landscape or swim-
ming in its transparent waters until sunset.

AGUA BLANCA
Location: 15 km away from Santa Eulària and 30 km
away from Eivissa. Size: 300 m long and 15 m wide
This long beach is perfect for a fantastic day in its blue
transparent waters. In this beach the rocks hide the sun
before it happens in other beaches and it is exposed to
strong east winds. Along with es Cavallet and “Sa Trin-
cha” of Las Salinas, these beach is a nudist favourite.
Its horizon is flanked by Sa Punta Grossa, on the north,
and the island of Tagomago on the south; the views of
the area are impressive.
POUS D’ES LLEO
Location: 20 minutes from ibiza town (29 km)
Size: 60 m long and15 m wide
This small bay is located in the Canal d´en Marti, sur-
rounded by the traditional fishermen stalls. This place
is perfect for swimming and snorkeling because the
beach is cosy and the view is great. Don’t forget to visit
the famous tower Torre d´en Valls and to taste the local
gastronomy.
PLAYA DE S’ESTANYOL
Location: 15 km away from Santa Eulària and 15 m
away from Eivissa.
A quite cove, perfect for those fond of rambling and
walking excursions, it is located in a surprisingly natu-
ral environment, among woods of pine trees. In the same
place you can enjoy unforgettable views of the coast.
RECOMMENDED BEACHESDAY LIFE SANTA EULARIA
CALA DE BOIX
Location: 20 minutes from ibiza town (27 km)
This beach has a very fine and dark sand and trans-
parent waters. Close to the car park you will find many
restaurants, famous for the quality of their seafood and

Gael Farano was born in Italy 28. 02. 1973 to his
italian father (Florenc) and french mother (Tou-
lon). He was only 6 months old when he start to
travel the world with his parents because of his
father work. He appeared in Singapoor and from
there he was traveling for another 33 years. He
has been in 4 continents, 23 countries. His influ-
ence comes from all these places.
After finishing degree in La Sorbonne (Par-
is-France) in Geology and Paleontology he moved
to Arizona (USA), Phoenix where he was working
in prestige museum and at the same time he was
studying Palentology.
He starts taking pictures as 14 years old. He was
studying and has degree from Lighting, techni-
cal, optical university in Phoenix. After studies
he became a reportage photographer traveling
around South, Central and North America, Af-
rica and have done more than 60 expeditions.
The beauty of the planet is that the places are
inaccessiblefor more people, permitted to have ea
cultural and visual baggage incredible with un-
forgettable emotion to transmit with the picture.
Now he is in the new adventure in the island of
the world Ibiza.

One of the most important and determinate ex-
periences in his life is photography for military,
Stabilisation Force (SFOR) in Sarajevo (BHN) for
almost two years. The horrible cruelty of the war
created and completed his point of view and de-
tails of his photography.
After he returned to Europe he opened franchis-
ing photo shops in Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.
As freelance photographer Gael was working in
fashion (D&G, Armani, Cavalli), publicity (Grup-
po Espresso) and while growing up his speciality

The Celebrations on the Auspicious Occasion
of His Majesty the King’s 7th Cycle Birthday
Anniversary
December 5 each year is regarded as a very sig-
nificant day in Thailand, as it marks His Majesty
King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s birthday. Since he is
recognized as the “Father of the Thai Nation,” his
birthday, December 5, is also observed as Thai-
land’s National Father’s Day.
Thai people are happy under the benevolence of
His Majesty, whom they regard as their devoted
father. His Majesty is regarded as the protector
of his people in every respect. He has become the
symbol of unity and social harmony in Thai socie-
ty. He is also recognized as a source of inspiration
and wisdom for the Thai people.
Each year on National Father’s Day, a number of
model fathers are named and presented with cer-
tificates and plaques of honor, in the same man-
ner as that on National Mother’s Day, August 12,
which is Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday, when
a number of outstanding mothers are selected and
honored.
In 2012 His Majesty turns 84, the completion of
the seventh 12-year cycle. For Thais, the 84th
anniversary is considered an important mile-
stone of life, deserving of special celebrations. The
deep reverence felt by all Thais for their King is
perhaps unique in the modern world. Each year

on His Majesty’s birthday, festivities are held
throughout the Kingdom; lights decorate house-
holds, government offices, public places, and pri-
vate businesses everywhere. The love, respect,
homage, and joy pouring forth from Thai people to
honor His Majesty are wonderful to see.
Besides royal ceremonies, many activities in sup-
port of public charities are held to celebrate this
important event. As part of His Majesty’s 84th
birthday celebrations, the general public has been
provided with a variety of celebrative performanc-
es free of charge at Sanam Luang and surround-
ing areas, from December 3 to 9.
From the day His Majesty the King ascended the
throne as King Rama IX, on 9 June 1946, to the
present day, the words have not been found that
can describe his immense kindness and compas-
sion toward his Thai subjects. His Majesty has not
only fulfilled the duties of a constitutional king in
a democratic regime, but has also offered effective
support to the work of the government, especially
in cases of public disasters.
The royal activities cover education, science and
technology, foreign relations, water resource man-
agement, soil conservation and development, for-
est resource conservation, religious affairs, and
medicine and public health, not to mention more
than 4,000 royally initiated projects.
Regarded as a role model for Thai people, His
Majesty the King has made numerous speeches
and given profound advice on various occasions.
He deserves to be called a “paternal monarch” for
his great devotion and unbounded love toward his
subjects.

Background
Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram, commonly known as “Wat
Phra Kaew”, is a royal temple of national significance and a ma-
jor tourist attraction of Thailand. The temple was consecrated
in 1792 during the reign of King Rama I the Great to house the
statue of the Emerald Buddha and to serve as a venue for the
performance of the royal ceremony of making merit. The temple
compound consists only of a Phutthawat area (the area dedicat-
ed to Buddha) so there are no living quarters for monks.
Belief
There is a belief that worshiping “Phra Phuttha Maha Mani Rat-
tana Ptlimakon or the Emerald Buddha”, the sacred protector of
Thai people, will bring good luck and make your wish come true.
The name of the Emerald Buddha “Phra Phuttha Maha Mani Rat-
tana Patimakon: signifies a gem of three wishes that can bring
success to work and good fortune. In Buddhist teachings, in
addition to worshiping the Buddha statue and making a wish,
a person needs to observe and practice precepts in order for the
wish to come true.
Attractions
Ubosol or the assembly hall houses Phra Phuttha Maha Mani
Rattana Patimakon or the statue of the Emerald Buddha, the
palladium of the Thai people. Once you enter the precinct. you
will enjoy the sense of peace and serenity as you are surrounded
by elegant architecture with elaborate decorations. Other ma-
jor attractions include the compound walls decorated with the
world’s most beautiful and the longest Thai murals depicting the
Indian epic of the Ramayana, salas or open pavilions, Ho Phra
Ratchakoramanuson or Phra Ratchakoramanuson Shrine, Ho
Phra Ratchaphongsanuson or Phra Ratchaphongsanuson Shrine,
Ho Phra Khanthararat or Phra Khanthararat Shrine, Mandapa (a
specific square or cruciform based building). the Royal Panthe-
on, Phra Si Rattana Chedi and the giant demons guarding the
entrance.
How to get there
Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram is located in the center of Bang-
kok on Na Phra Lan Road, Sanam Luang, in the Phra Nakhon Dis-
trict. You can get there by bus,but I’m sure your time is more
valuable than sitting on a city bus. There are daily tours there
from virtually every hotel in the city. Wat Pho (Temple of the
Reclining Buddha) is next to Wat Phra Kaeo and the Grand Palace
is in the same complex, so these would be a good “set” of places
to take in during one trip.

and Congress.To be held at world heritage city of
Ayutthaya, Thailand. From 17th March to 20th
March
Celebrate Nai Khanom Tom day Wai-Kru Cere-
mony.Wai Kru Ceremony is a demonstration of
the Muay Thai boxers’ respect and gratitude to
their teachers in submission to the serious and
patient teaching and training. The ceremony is
very important, which shows sincere appreciation
and perseverance, and also raise the spirit of the
boxers. In the earlier day of the event, the boxers
have to attend the rituals to worship Nai Khanom
Tom who was the famous Thai boxer. Next, there
are the youth contest in the Wai Kru Muay Thai
or respect paying ceremony, enjoy Thai arts and
culture performances including the traditional
Thai tattoo, making of Aranyik swords, perform-
ing of Thai martial arts, and an exhibition of an-
cient weapons. After that in the late afternoon,
there are Wai Kru Muay Thai ceremony, worship-
ping Thai ancestral kings and brave soldiers who
protected the motherland; namely, King Naresu-
an the Great, King Suea, and Phraya Phichai Dap
Hak, and see the demonstrative performance of
“Amazing Thai Elephants” at night.

Pattaya Floating Market
The 4 Regions Floating Market is increasingly
popular among tourists. There is a set of Thai
style houses built in different regional archi-
tectures located in the middle of a large pond.
The pond has small water alleyways as well as
a wooden bridges that allows visitors to walk
around and buy products from all 4 regions in
Thailand. The market also offers boat service for
those who would like to sit down, cruise along and
experience traditional Thai lifestyle. A numerous
types of food are available in those houses at rea-
sonable price. Furthermore, there is an adventure
sling activitiy which guests can hang themselve
on a sling across the water alleyway. Wood carv-
ing Museum is located within the market. At the
gate of the market, Thai house with a replica of
the Lord Ganesh carved from wood for those who
would like worship. There are also Thai cultural
shows including Thai traditional dances and sea
boxing show.
Pattaya Beach is one major point that makes vis-
itors enjoy Pattaya. Although Bangkok is a great
tourist place, it does not have the beach, and Pat-
taya Beach is the closest beach in the city that of-
fer all of facility towards visitors.

Pattaya Walking Street

nowned street of Pattaya at night. The Walking
Walking Street, an entertainment area that has
100 beer bars, more than 30 go-go bars, sport
bars, discos, cabaret shows, massage parlors, and
a wide range of ethnic restaurants as well as sea-
food line up in the main street and many more in
the side-Soi leading towards Pratamnak Road. It
starts from the south end of Beach Road to Bali
Hai Pier. The street is free from vehicles from
06.00 pm. - 02.00 am. The legal closing time is
02.00 am.
Tiger Zoo

Just 15 minutes east of Pattaya. Nong Nooch
Tropical Garden has emerged as a fascinating
tourist destination renowned for its wide-ranging

Sanctuary of Truth
The compound, which covers an area of more
than two rais, is situated by the sea at Laem
Ratchawet on Na Klua Road, North Pattaya.

Saikaew Beach is one of beaches under responsi-
bility of Thai Navy. This beach is not so far from
Pattaya. However, visitors need to pay for its en-
trance fee for 80 baht (included toilet).There are
shops and restaurants at the beach fronts also. To
go to this beach is visitors need to turn to Chum-
pol Sattahip Navy School.
