ICT can transform agriculture in the SADC region. AMEWI is an information system that provides farmers access to early warning information, market updates, and production information via a mobile app, web portal, SMS, and call center. It aims to address challenges in the agricultural industry like limited access to inputs, expensive logistics, and lack of knowledge by facilitating communication between stakeholders. The system's services include disseminating early warning data, providing real-time market prices, enabling trading between farmers and suppliers, offering an online discussion forum, and presenting technical training videos and resources.

region is underperforming and
unsustainable.
 Agricultural industry in the SADC region
remains under-utilized and in terms of
markets, several impediments have
been identified;
- limited access to agricultural inputs,

markets due to low volume produce,
- lack of knowledge in which commodities
to produce.

continues to decline in the wake of
