2. The Empire State Building is a 102 story landmark located on 34th Street and Fifth Avenue. The Empire State building’s name comes from the nickname for NY, which is, the Empire State. The building was completed in 1931 and is currently the third largest skyscraper in the world.
3. The Statue of liberty is 124 years old. The French gave the statue to the people of the United States as a sign of friendship established during the American Revolution
4. The ornaments on the building is based on features used on Chrysler automobiles The Chrysler Building is a skyscraper on the side of Manhattan. The building opened on May 20, 1930. It was the world’s tallest building for 11 months before being surpassed by the Empire State Building in 1931.
5. The East River separates Manhattan from Long Island. The Brooklyn Bridge was the first bridge to span over the river.
6. The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest bridges in the United States. The bridge was completed by 1883 and it connects Manhattan and Brooklyn over the East River. The Brooklyn Bridge wasdesigned by German immigrant John Augustus Roebling.
7. Carnegie Hall is a concert venue located in Midtown Manhattan. Carnegie Hall was built in 1891 and it stages many performances every season. It has many auditoriums like the Main Hall, Zankel Hall and the Weill Recital Hall.
8. The New York City Transit Authority runs public transportation throughout the five boroughs. There are 468 stations in operation. The MTA offers commute 24 hours a day, 365 days a year..
