12. Mary Wollstonecraft
Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley was
born in London, the second of six
children.
At the age of 19th she went out to
earned her own livelihood.
In 1792, she published her
Vindication on the rights of
Woman, an important work
which, advocating equality of the
sexes, and the main doctrines of
the later women’s movement,
made her both famous and
infamous in her own time.
13. Argument #1
• “Women are partially responsible for being
treated as second class citizens”, Mary
Wollstonecraft.
14. True..
• “Women are partially responsible for being
treated as second class citizens”, Mary
Wollstonecraft.
• I believe Mary’s statement is
true. The way we carry our self's
is the way other people perceive
us, so if we carry our self’s in a
way that is not respectable
among other’s and except being
treated lesser than human than
we cannot complain for the
treatment being given to us.
15. What is Love?
Love is knowing all
about someone and
still wanting to with
him/her more than
any other person.
Love is trusting
someone enough to
tell him/her
everything about
yourself including
the things you might
be ashamed of.
Love is feeling
comfort and safe
with him/her.
-Rani Italy
16. Argument #2
Why do Men and Women view Love Differently?
Typical Man’s View……
– Men view love differently than women because
they were raised to believe they shouldn’t show
any emotions, and tough. So they try not to
have that strong attachment that women do.
They view “Love” more with their hormones
than their heart.
Typical Woman’s View…
– Women have strong emotions and are easily
emotionally connected. They take relationships
more seriously and expect equality in a relationship.
They expect to have that emotional connection and
expect to be loved.
17. Argument #2 continued..
My Opinion..
I feel that the gender doesn’t matter, I feel that it
depends on the individual. Not everyone has the
same outlook towards love. Just like there's men who
women view as “dogs”, there's also women who are
viewed as “dogs” in men’s eyes. Not everyone has
the same out look. The stereotype that all women
are saints when it comes to love and all men only
think about is sex is ridiculous.
19. My Opinion
• No, women should not
depend on any man
financially simply because
when a man gets tiered of
her he can get up and
leave at any moment. She
will be left with nothing.
She should always try to
better herself so she can
always have something to
offer herself.
20. Simple Minded..
• I know someone who
runs to guys when she
needs or wants
something. She has no
point of view towards
independence; she was
raised her whole life
believing men are
supposed to bow down
to women. Reality is
there are no men willing
to put their pride aside
and to wait hand and foot
on someone, plus work. I
am sure reality will hit
her sooner or later.
