4 x ­ 5 + x = 7
5 x ­ 5 = 7
5 x = 12
x = 12/5

3. 6 a ­ 5 ­ ( 4 a ­ 7 ) = 0
Solve the equation:
6 a ­ 5 ­ 4 a + 7 = 0
2 a + 2 = 0
2 a = ­2
a = ­1
