- Hi. I’m going to walk you through a short introduction to some of the recent buzz about Personal learning networks. I’m doing this in Elluminate, and I’m in the role of moderator and BJ is a participant. So if you’re viewing this recording, you should be learning a bit about PLNs and you’re also getting to see what a saved Elluminate session looks like. I’ll start by asking BJ to take the mic and introduce herself.

- So I just want you to think a moment about whether you have a PLN? BJ, please click on the green checkmark if you think you have a PLN. (this is as much to show how elluminate works as it is to answer the question because I already know that bj has a PLN and I am part of it)
- Here’s a basic diagram of what a PLN might look like for someone who isn’t using much social media.
- Note that sharing is back and forth with colleagues and friends, but you don’t give much back in the way of resources
- You may use some technologies, but in general, the technology is uni-directional and it’s fairly contained. I’m going to ask BJ to take the mic again and tell us about one tool she enjoys using as part of her PLN, and also to add few wordsthe whiteboard to describe this.So what if you could expand your PLN……
- more collaboration and interaction -- these circles look like separate things but eventually they begin to overlap in really interesting ways.
