INSTAGRAM  SETTINGS   Se@ngs:   •  The  only  informaXon  required  when  signing  up  for  Instagram  is  an  email  address  and  desired   username.   •  Phone  number  should  not  be  listed.   •  Click  Edit  Profile  and  scroll  down  to  the  boGom  and  turn  on:  “Photos  are  private”   Geotagging:   •  When  uploading  a  photo,  the  geo-­‐locaXon  data  of  the  photo  can  easily  be     shared  with  your  followers  if  you  are  not  careful.   •  When  uploading  a  photo,  be  sure  to  avoid  tapping  the  buGon  to  share     locaXon.   •  In  your  phone’s  se@ngs  (not  Instagram),  turn  locaXon  services  off  by  going   To  “privacy”  and  then  “locaXon  services”.   •  If  you  accidentally  approve  a  follower  you  don’t  want,  you  can  block  them     so  they  can’t  follow  you  anymore.

TWITTER  SETTINGS   •  Account:   •  Username:  Uncheck  the  box  “let  others  find  me  by  my  email  address”   •  Tweet  LocaXon:  Do  not  share  your  locaXon  when  tweeXng     •  Tweet  Media:  Make  sure  both  boxes  are  not  checked   •  Tweet  Privacy:  Click  this  box  to  protect  tweets  and  you  will  have  to  accept  someone   before  they  can  see  your  tweets.   •  PersonalizaXon:  I  suggest  you  check  this  box  as  it  requires  personal  informaXon  to  reset   your  password.  Since  there  are  a  lot  of  people  hacking  TwiGer  accounts,  this  will  protect   you  further.   •  Password  Reset:  Check  this  box  to  require  personal  informaXon  to  reset  password.     •  Profile:   •  Photo:  Do  not  use  a  photo  of  yourself   •  LocaXon  &  Website:  Not  necessary  to  list   •  Bio:  This  is  a  place  to  add  160  characters  about  yourself.  Make  sure  what  you  list  is   appropriate  and  not  sharing  too  much  info.   •  Apps:  Review  apps  and  “revoke  access”  for  any  that  are  not  needed

YOUTUBE  SETTINGS   •  Turn  on  “Safety  Mode”.  This  screens  out  potenXally  objecXonable  content  that  you  don’t   want  to  see.   •  Block  users  will  stop  them  from  making  comments  on  your  videos  and  they  can’t  message   you  privately.  You  can  block  someone  on  their  “About”  tab  by  clicking  on  the  flag  icon.     •  Make  sure  when  you  upload  a  video  you  change  it’s  privacy  se@ng  as  it  defaults  to  “public”.   Visit  your  “video  manager”  and  edit  each  video  and  change  the  privacy  se@ngs  to  either   “unlisted”  or  “private”.
