3. Any student can enrol. There is no requirement that you have completed a Computing course in the junior school.

4. Students in senior courses gain an understanding of the widespread use of IT systems in entertainment, education business and commerce.

7. 2 Unit Information Processes and Technology Information Processes and Technology is the study of computer based information systems. It focuses on information processes performed by these systems and the information technology that allows them to take place. Social, ethical and non-computer procedures resulting from the processes are considered. Different types of information systems are studied eg banking ,retailing, RTA. Through project work, students will create their own information systems to meet a set of requirements. Option topic is multimedia utilising Adobe Flash and Adobe Premier software. Students create a multimedia project as part of this course.

8. 2 Unit Software Design and Development Software Design and Development provides students with a systematic approach to problem-solving, and an opportunity to be creative There are excellent career prospects in this field and interesting areas of study including game development. Focus on programming using the Visual Basic language and Flash scripting as well as an historical appreciation of the development of programming languages since the 1940’s.

9. 2 Unit Information Technology - IT VET The Information Technology Curriculum Framework has been developed to provide students with the opportunity to gain credit towards the NSW Higher School Certificate and credit towards national vocational qualifications in Information Technology under the Australian Qualifications Framework. A category B HSC course (only one category B course can be included in an ATAR) A Certificate 3 accreditation under the AQF agreement.

11. 1 Unit Computing Applications In this course, students will participate in hands-on activities to develop skills, knowledge and understanding related to information and communication technologies For students who have had limited use of computers throughout their K–10 schooling and want to improve their skills in a range of applications suitable for the workforce such as word processing, desktop publishing, web page development and graphics.
