3. History
Family owned and operated since 1968
In 1968, Richard Kniesel opened a 2 car garage body
shop and started what is today Kniesel’s Collision
Center of Citrus Heights. In the early 1990s, Kniesel’s
expanded the Citrus Heights location into a modern,
20,000 square foot facility.
The family now runs a group of 5 Collision Centers in
the greater Sacramento area, employing more
than100 people.
The second location opened in 2003, in Rocklin, CA.
They opened their third location in 2008 in Natomas,
CA and the fourth shop in the spring of 2012, in
Shingle Springs, CA. The newest location opened in
the summer of 2012 in Downtown Sacramento.

5. ENVIRONMENT
Environmentally Safe Paints
At Kniesel’s Collision Centers, we proactively
seek ways of doing business that reduce our
impact on the environment. We are taking a
significant step by phasing out conventional
solvent-based paint finishing systems which
release volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
into the atmosphere. By introducing a low-
VOC PPG waterborne basecoat system, we
will reduce our basecoat-sourced VOCs by
up to 80%, decreasing ozone and smog.
