Management is the profession of control.
Control of an undertaking consists of
seeing that everything is being
carried out in accordance with the
plan which has been adopted, the
orders which have been given, and
the principles which have been laid
down. Its object is to point out
mistakes in order that they may be
rectified and prevented from
recurring.
CHARACTERISTICS
FEATURES OF
CONTROLLING
One can control future happenings but not the
happened. Hence in here all the past performance is
measured for taking corrective actions for future periods.
Every manager in an organisation has to perform the
control function. The control may be quality control,
inventory control, production control, or even
administrative control.
Control is a continuous process, it follow a definite
pattern and time-table, month after month and year after
year on a continuous basis.
1.Setting performance standards.
2.Measurement of actual performance.
3.Comparing actual performance with
standards.
4.Analysing deviations.
5.Taking correcting deviations.
PROCESS
thus it can be concluded by
quoting ,
“Control consists of verifying
whether everything occurs in
conformity with the plan adopted,
the instructions issued, and
principles established. It['s] object

errors in order to rectify [them]
