It will also cover how social media emerged in a Corporate setting. We will cover how social media works today and the benefits of Northwestern Technologies using Social Media in a Marketing Strategy.
Social Media is defined as Web Sites and other online means of communication that are used by large groups of people to share information and to develop social and professional contacts: Many business are utilizing social media to generate sales. A good example of this would be Facebook. There are 750 million users who are using Facebook every month. This staggering amount allows companies to reach out to millions of possible customers. A great bonus to using social media as a marketing tool is that you can target your audience!
There are a lot of social media platforms that exist today but some of the top ones by users is Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and MySpace. With those 5 combined you are looking at a hefty 1.2 billion users every month. That can help shape a company in terms of sales, branding, and customer service. There are many companies who have seen a huge spike in all three of these areas as soon as they decided to add Social Media in their Marketing Strategy. Even if the payoff doesn’t end with a huge uptick in purchase it will allow to you connect with possible clients to build Branding and Awareness.
Social Networking took a little bit before it started to emerge in the corporate world. First Social Media arrived and began to grow very rapidly. After a little while customers began to withdraw from traditional ways to communicate. Once companies felt the need to follow the customers to where they were going companies started finding out how important social media really can be to a marketing strategy. Corporations felt the need to reach out to possible customers and to build on their Brand. Finally large companies felt the negative effects of not having a way for social media customers to complain and so Customer Service via social media was born. Some companies had to find out the hard way while other companies took the lead and began reaping the benefits.
Currently companies are able to build up their brands via Social Networking. They can also bring customers in through social media and communicate with the targeted audience. Companies are using Social Media to provide customer service for both satisfied and unsatisfied clients. Even though I already talked about branding in the first bullet, all of these aspects add to the branding and awareness of a product or company. This allows a company to be able to grow in ways that may not have been possible before. This is only going to grow in the near future and there may be other aspects of social media that companies take advantage of.
There are a lot of opportunities and benefits for Northwestern Technologies to use Social Media. One of the biggest is the fact that you will be able to connect to millions of customers. With there being over 2 billion social users on the top 5 social networking sites, this wound be great for any business. Secondly Northwestern Technologies will be able to use social media to conduct customer service. This is one of the newest but most important possible uses for social media. The company will also be able to build up their brand. If a company has a weak brand or a negative brand then Social Media is that much more important for them. Also, social media allows you to find a target audience and reach out to them.
In conclusion social media allows companies to reach out to millions if not billions of companies. A company is able to build up their current brand or start new through social media. A great tool that can be used is creating a way to offer customer service to current social media users.
