Here follows a short description of the green
associations the China Green Tour is locally
working with.
EEBCUS
Peking University
EEBCUS aims at constructing a platform of environmental education
and protection for university students and cultivate excellent students
in environmental related topics. It encourages students to participate
in environmental research, green campus construction, environmental
education and international communication.
Environmental Educational Base for Chinese University Students was
established by College of Urban and Environmental Sciences at Peking
University and the Youth League committee in 2006. EEBCUS won special
awards in the fourth “Toyota Youth awards for Environmental Protection
in July 2007. EEBCUS get support from China Youth Communist League
Center Committee, All-China Federation of Youth, Ministry of Education,
Ministry of Environment as well as many universities and environmental
organizations. Today, EEBCUS has 38 member units and covers more
than 300,000 people. It is becoming the most influential environmental
organization across Chinese universities.
Green Hope
Communication University of China
The Green Hope Association was found in 1999. During these ten
years, the association was mainly engaged in organizing members and
volunteers to take part in activities on the environmental protection,
offering services for schools and society.
The representative activities are : environmental film show, planting
trees in the suburban area of Beijing,recycling used books,batteries
and papers,a week for eating vegetable dishes,inviting someone who
has made a great contribution in the environmental protection territory
to give a lecture in our school,picture show and providing volunteers
for some environmental organizations.

The Green Friend Community
Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Since its establishment in 1998, The Green Friend Community has
enjoyed a good reputation among the students. It has always been
in the top ten communities list each year. Within Shanghai Jiao Tong
University is contributing to environment protection by cooperating
with environmentally friendly organizations and authorities as well as
by organizing all kinds of green activities, which aim at disseminating
environment protection notions, good living ways harmless to the
environment and improving our campus’s environment.
Graduate Student Union of Department of Environmental
Science and Engineering
Fudan University
The Graduate Student Union of Department of Environmental Science and
Engineering is a student self-government organization in Fudan University.
It has seven departments including organization, propaganda, literature
& art, sports, academy, career development and living. Last November,
we successfully hosted The Fudan Doctoral Forum on Environment
and sustainable Development. Participants invited to the forum include
many famous professors and excellent students from Tongji University,
Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University and
Southeast University. Our academic influence was thereafter expanded
to the Yangtze River Delta. And we also have an annual activity schedule
of “movie-shows” on environmental protection, which gained the prize
of “Fudan Special Cultural Program” in May this year.

Environmental Protection Association
Sun Yat-sen University
The environmental protection association of Sun Yat-sen University
was found in 2005 as the Sun Yat-sen University’s green youth union.
The association follows the idea of spreading environmental awareness
among the students and helping environmental protection events to
grow in strength in the campus. As years went by, the association has
gradually become a well-known association with ideas, distinguishing
features, actions, influence and responsibility gradually.
The idea of the association is to attend to environmental protection
work in university, monitoring changes of environmental protection
work in society, advocating an environment-friendly life style, spreading
environmental awareness to the public, making sure of the action of the
environmental protection work and promoting a sustained develop-
ment of environment. All the members will make a contribution to the
environmental protection work under the Sun Yat-sen University, serving
the society, working for the big family and protecting the earth.
Green Youth Volunteer Service, Chongqing.
Chongqing University of Resources
and Environmental Science
Chongqing University’s volunteers association is engaged to the cause
of environment protection and social welfare services. It is composed of
full-time students and professional youth volunteers service organiza-
tions. Established in 2002, it is the first college students “Environmental
protection volunteers association” in Chongqing.
Chongqing University Youth Volunteers Association has two organizations:
- the Chongqing Green Volunteers Union of group members from the
Communist Youth League
The association special field had a high starting point, with the engage-
ment of:
- Chinese Academy of Sciences Professor Xian Xue Fu ,
- Chongqing Environmental Protection Bureau deputy director Professor
Chen Wan Zhi
- Chongqing University, Institute for Sustainable Development, Professor
Lei Heng Shun. He is the adviser in charge of the Expert Committee
Service team, he is in also in charge of internal and external contracts.
They integrate Science and Technology students in extracurricular
activities, and guide them to bring forth new ideas specially addressed
to the “environmental protection volunteer service”.

Green Pionner environmental
Protection Volunteers association
University of Inner Mongolia
Green Pioneer Environmental Protection Volunteers Association of the
University of Inner Mongolia was founded in 2004 with the purpose of
promoting environmental knowledge and awareness to university, high
school, primary school students and the city population.
Green Pioneer Environmental Protection Volunteers Association is
a nonprofit environmental organization with many volunteers. The
Association since its establishement has had Inner Mongolia University
Associations Management Committee, Communist Youth League. The
majority of teachers and students expressed deep concern and strong
support about environmental protection promotion and education, social
practice, exchanges and cooperation programs, making unremitting efforts
and winning the support of the local and the international community.
