Digital Technology International (DTI) is a proven, global provider offering a complete solution that includes editorial, advertising, circulation, Web publishing, production, business and professional services for the newspaper and media industries. The Progress OpenEdge platform is the basis for the Circulation Application module of DTI’s offering.
In February 2007, DTI acquired Publishing Business Systems (PBS). The acquisition combined the resources and talents of two of the newspaper industry’s leading and long-standing software solutions providers and demonstrates a continued commitment to serving this market. Progress Partner PBS focused on the publishing business had a circulation management system based on OpenEdge. DTI had a “competitive” platform from InterSystems that powered their other applications. Progress worked with the partner to help craft an overall SaaS strategyThe SaaS model would allow DTI to offer an On Demand solution and provide a distinct competitive advantage for New prospects and existing . DTI now has a strong competitive offering against outsourcers. SaaS and OpenEdge is a core to their strategy. In fact, in the future DTI will migrate the other DTI applications that are based on InterSystems to a SaaS environment.
UnicornHRO, Inc. is a company with a singular focus – proving outsourced solutions that address a companies needs for their Accounts Payable and Human Resources functions in order to operate efficiently and profitably.
In 2008, UnicornHRO increased their revenues to Progress for the fifth consecutive year as they achieved continued success in their chosen niche: mid-market companies (employees 200 – 5000) who choose to outsource the AP/HR functions as a means of cost reduction. Unicorns Achievements documenting their focus in 2008 include – Doubling the size of their sales organization; now standing at six reps. Growing internal revenues 35%; 75% of which was from net new customers. Writing their planned upgrade to Oe10 into 2009 business plan.Hired By Appointment Only and conducted telemarketing campaign leading to one 2008 deal. Hired public relations firm to re-brand the company. Participated in case study with Progress highlighting Spring Valley Savings Bank Such high level of focus requires an application partner who is committed to their vision and willing to work at it over a period of years, and such is the case with UnicornHRO. The companies plans for 2009 include building on this achievement by reinvesting in their application and expanding their marketing initiatives. Because of their phenomenal business focus in 2008, as well as their plans for 2009, UnicornHRO deserves the 2008 Business Focus Award from Progress.
QAD continues to be among the largest Progress partners. QAD is focused in supply chain management and developing products that are easy to learn and intuitive to operate. QAD continues to rely on Progress technology to keep their business strong, competitive and continually growing.
QAD knows how to stay fresh and competitive and their busy market space. QAD constantly desires to consume as much Progress technology as they possible can, and they put their money where there mouth is. Their commitment to staying competitive was obvious in the Q3 when QAD flew several R&D people into Santa Barbara from all corners of the world including Australia, Belgium, Chicago and Detroit. In a quest to bolster their SOA Strategy, QAD spent several days performing a Proof of Concept for Actional with the help of Progress Factional and Sonic resources. QAD is considering using Actional within their Qxtend product to monitor their real time business processes. This once again proves that QAD is committed to adding features and functionality to their product while taking advantage of the latest and greatest PSC technologies.
