Introduction of volunteers

The vast majority of organizations
questioned provide an introduction to
volunteers explaining their role and a
presentation of organization.
Support of volunteers
A 100% of participating organizations
 provide on-going support to volunteers
 according to their needs.

All participating organizations provide
 face-to-face and / or emotional support
 to their volunteers.
Insurance of volunteers


 Only few participating organizations
 mentioned insurance for their volunteers,
 this is the Italian organizations.
Program of activities
Most participating organizations have a
 documented program of activities for
 volunteers and have a documented record with
 activities that volunteers need to undertake,
 these include:
 All of the participating organizations from Greece and
   Romania; and
 Some of the participating organizations from the Italy
   and UK.
 The organization from Cyprus don’t have any
   documented program of activities.
Monitoring the progress of volunteers


   Overall, 80% of the participating
   organizations monitor the progress and
   development of volunteers and 70 %
   match the needs of the volunteers with
   the roles that the organizations have.
The period of volunteering

 The majority of volunteers from Greece,
 UK, Cyprus and Italy stay in the
 participating organization more that 24
 months, while in Romania the maximum
 period is 12 months.
Importance of volunteers retention

 All participating organizations believe
 that it is very important to retain
 volunteers in and is important to give
 volunteers more responsibility.
Volunteers and peoples from different
cultures/religions

Volunteers from different cultures/religions
receive support for specific needs if
necessary, as do those that the volunteers
come into contact with.
Events for volunteers


 All participating organizations hold
 regular events to motivate and retain
 volunteers in the long-term.
