Technology is creating new publishing media and today’s collections
have to adapt to not only holding print but also electronic sources of
academic information.
All too often, academic and student users are either unaware of
what is available to them, uncertain of its use and value, or unable
to find their way to and into the resources provided for them.
The range of electronic sources now available to researchers and
students alike is dizzyingly wide, and they can be confusing and
complex to identify and locate, with so many publishers, aggregators,
portals and databases.

Today we realize that academic institutions
increasingly subscribes to a vast amount of
information that is not available by simply searching
the Web.
This includes essential information that you will be
expected to refer to in your essays, dissertations
and research.
