Helga design Golden Temple India The Golden Temple in Amritsar, India, also known as Darbar Sahib, is the holiest site in Sikhism. It houses the eternal Guru of Sikhs, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, inside and it is moved daily between the Golden Temple and the Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. The Golden Temple is culturally the most significant place of worship for Sikhs and one of the oldest Sikh temples. It was beautified with gold plating and marblework during the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
