Alternative Fuels

Engine in which the combustion of a fuel (normally a fossil fuel) occurs
with an oxidizer (usually air) in a combustion chamber that is an integral
part of the working fluid flow circuit. Alternative fuels, known as non-
conventional or advanced fuels, are any materials or substances that can
be used as fuels, other than conventional fuels.
   Algae based fuels
   Alcohol fuels
   Biofuels and vegoils
   Air
   Hydrogen
   Batteries
Variable Valve Timing with intelligence

The shaft spins just like a regular
camshaft -- but by gradually sliding the
camshaft laterally as the engine speed
and load increase, the valve timing can
be optimized. There are many ways in
which this can be achieved, ranging from
mechanical devices to electro-hydraulic
and camless system
VALVE TRONIC ENGINES


The Valvetronic engine is the world's first engine
without a throttle butterfly. Valvetronic varies
with the timing and the lift of the intake valves.
This valvetronic engines allows the engine to
breathe more freely, fuel consumption is
reduced by 10%. Valvetronic reduces
maintenance costs, improves cold start
behavior, lowers exhaust emissions, and
provides a smoother running engine.
Aluminium engine body

An aluminium engine body comprises a main body
and the outer cover body A modern car engine with
components made of aluminium can be 24 percent
lighter than one with components made
of steel, which also allows fuel consumption
to be reduced by 2 liters per 100 kilometers.
NEW TEFLON PADS PISTONS

The Cummins V28 engines have used a new technology for
their pistons- they have two Teflon pads and the pistons also
incorporate a cutback headland.
Teflon padded pistons will eliminate cylinder liner water
jacket cavitation corrosion and increase cylinder liner life and
hence engine life.

Cavity In Piston


engine has the combustion chamber cavity in the
crown of the piston. This design is called a
Mexican Hat piston. This Piston have a wide
pressure range, can reach high pressures and the
pressure can be controlled without an impact on
the rate of flow it assists in creating air
turbulence, which mixes the fuel with air during
the last part of compression in diesel engines.
VARIABLE COMPRESSION RATIO


Eccentric crankshaft engine:
    The motor provides adjustment in 0.1s for
    decreasing compression ratio and 0.5s for
    increasing ratio.


The Saab Variable Compression :
   optimum compression ratio of 14:1
   The compression ratio can be lowered to 8:1 at
    high load.
FAST SOLENOID COMMON RAIL


which enable multiple injection
events, increased injection pressure
capability and a new closed loop control
system known as Accelerometer Pilot
Control (APC). and the system is correctly
calibrated. Solenoid valves make possible
fine electronic control over the fuel
injection time and quantity.
TwinPower Turbo engines


TwinPower Turbo engines are made in
lightweight aluminium construction and use
variable turbine geometry TwinPower Turbo
petrol engines is applied throughout the series.
Innovative turbocharger technology and Double-
Vanos increase performance and ensure
spontaneous response even at low speeds.
