This has been underlined by the appointment of a Director with specific responsibility for business management systems throughout the group and the company’s historical investment in quality management when it became one of the first businesses in the employment agency sector to achieve what was then BS 5750. Through on-going development this has led to successive upgrades to the present internationally recognised ISO 9001:2000 quality management approval with BSI. Additional work has led to the development of an occupational health safety management system based on OHSAS 18001:1999 and an environmental management system underpinned by the International environmental standard ISO 14001:2004. The above management systems each have a policy statement providing an overview of their scope and focus; this is complemented by additional detailed procedures, process documentation and electronic data. Other areas coming within the scope of our business management systems include business continuity planning, management systems integration and investors in people. Quality Policy The company through senior management is fully committed to achieving the highest standards in client service, staff welfare and training. The framework for achieving this is detailed as part of the documented Quality Management System based on ISO 9001:2000 requirements. This quality policy has the approval and commitment of the Managing Director and its implementation is the responsibility of all staff whose efforts will be co-ordinated by the Director responsible for QHSE as the designated Quality Management representative for the company. Orion Group will: a) Aim to continually improve the effectiveness of the quality management system, by regular review of its performance and identification of areas for further development; these will be incorporated as target actions in management meeting minutes and where necessary included within quality objectives. b) Comply with applicable requirements of ISO 9001:2000. c) Achieve operational excellence in the provision of company services. d) Meet and where possible exceed the needs and expectations of our customers and other stakeholders. e) Establish, implement, review and where necessary update quality objectives, which are consistent with the aims and intent of this policy. f) Fully involve, empower and develop all staff to use their abilities for the achievement of company quality objectives.
