2. ABOUT AUDITIONS
Live Auditions will be held after school or in the evening. Choices are as follows:
Now until October 24th by appointment with teacher permission and Mr. Tyler permission: 4th hour
or LUNCH only. (Especially for middle school)
1) Thursday (October 25th) 2:40pm – 5pm at Sperreng’s Little Theater (especially for middle school)
2) Friday (October 26th) 2:40pm – 5pm at Sperreng’s Little Theater (especially for middle school)
3) Middle School Students - Anytime before 5pm on October 26th via email, CD, or YouTube address.
Please sign up for only ONE of these days OR make special arrangements and prepare one
monologue and one song for audition found in the AUDITION PACKET. The actual audition will
only take about 15 minutes. There are 3 songs included in the audition packet by the guidance office
or find everything at: thelittlemermaidjr.blogspot.com :
1) Part Of Your World; 2) Under The Sea; 3) Kiss The Girl; 4) Happy Birthday
Prepare only ONE of the three songs to sing for auditions or sing Happy Birthday. You may prepare a
different version of your own song but it helps if the song is from the show. If you are interested in a
lead role, it is strongly suggested that you sing the first song listed for that character.
Middle-schoolers be prepared to stay after school on Monday, October 22nd (Truman) & Tuesday,
October 23rd (Sperreng) to receive rehearsal calendars, important dates and additional materials. If
you are unable to attend at least 2 dates (January 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 18, & 19) please do not
audition for a lead role. While we multiple cast lead roles, and everyone is cast, there is a
considerable amount of time needed for us to do our best. Also, if there is a conflict with a rehearsal
date, you must notify Mr. Tyler by leaving a message at 729-2400 x 2220 no later than the night
before.
Thelittlemermaidjr.blogspot.com
IMPORTANT: thelittlemermaidjr.blogspot.com will
have all of the audition music in the show. As we get
further into the show, we will be posting choreography
videos as well as lyrics to all the songs. This is the very
best way to learn all the songs and will allow your child
to learn the material when it is convenient for you.

Elementary students will most likely be cast as chorus (Sea Creatures, Merfolk, Sailors – most likely
ALL THREE … Oh yay!) as well as Animals for the younger students. This is our second year trying
this so there’s bound to be a few new surprises, but our goal is to include EVERYONE who wants to
be a part of the show. Our blog: thelittlemermaidjr.blogspot.com is an important resource for
rehearsal practice and learning the songs. So visit it often and bring practice into the 21st Century!
Parents & Elementary Students: be prepared to meet at Sperreng Middle School at 5:00pm on
Thursday, October 25th for a short MEETING in Sperreng’s Little Theater. You will receive the same
information and the meeting will last no longer than 45 minutes. Information can also be sent via
email if you are unable to attend the meeting. Your participation is a HUGE part of our show and we
hope that rehearsals for our elementary kids can be mostly vocal/movement once every few weeks
and increase in frequency after the first of the year as we get closer to the show dates in January.
