2. Smart City
Within the CITADEL project we define a ‘smart’
city as a city that, using open data and
innovative web technologies, provides an open
innovation environment that empowers citizens
to create their own ‘smart’, innovative services
that can be usable in differed European cities.

own cycling experience in the city center
2. The Smart decision application: optimize
transportation of disabled people in the city
center

4. Mobile Application Templates
The five application templates that we can use them to create the
majority of the proposed scenarios of the pilot cities are:
1. Environmental data in specific locations template.
2. Parking spaces with public transport points (combining with
environmental data) template
3. Static points of interest (PoIs) in the city (including QR codes)
template
4. User-generated PoIs or crowed-sourcing information template
5. Events in the city template

5. Analysis of proposed Scenarios
For Athens we match these templates with the scenarios as
followed:
• Scenario 1(The Smart cyclist application): application
template 1
• Scenario 2(The Smart decision application): application
template 1 + application template 2
• Scenario 3(The Smart parking application for motor bikers
and vehicles): application template 2
• Scenario 4(The Smart application for pedestrians):
application template 1
• Scenario 5(The Smart application for driving teachers and
students): application template 1 + application template 2
