3. 2 – New Volunteer Attraction
As there are 3 different volunteer profiles, there is a need for a specific approach
to each group, targeting issues and places.
Jubiladas
•NGOS that work with retired people in Barcelona (especially in Raval) – Putting together
people with available time and no companionship with the students that need a tutor, but
that do not have one available.
•Churches that have senior groups
•Social Centers and Retired Homes
Professionals
•Target the Corporate Social Responsibility area of companies, to create partnerships so
employees can volunteer as part of the current volunteer programs at those companies.

4. 2 – New Volunteer Attraction
As there are 3 different volunteer profiles, there is a need for a specific approach
to each group, targeting issues and places.
Students
•Target the social responsibility or volunteering student clubs that already exist in the
schools, as to attract students that are already interested in volunteering.
•Create a line of “Administrative -Volunteers” - allow students to volunteer not only in
teaching, but also in administrative activities, such as marketing, accounting, Recruiting,
financing and fundraising, metrics, PR – That would allow students that have an interest in
volunteer, but have no teaching skills, to engage with Terral. (Professionals could also
volunteer in this area)

5. 3 – Engaging with volunteers
Increase the participation of the current volunteers and use their skills to
improve the performance of Terral and to attract other volunteers.
Use the Network Effect
•Create groups of 3 new volunteers that give mutual support, back-up in case of absence,
and incentivize participation. This group would be mediated by a more experienced
volunteer (6 months of experience) that is also part of his own group.
Use positive peer pressure to increase
participation and decrease absences. As
one person vouches for another, they
are less prone to not participate.

6. 3 – Engaging with volunteers
Increase the participation of the current volunteers and use their skills to
improve the performance of Terral and to attract other volunteers.
Create a “career path” for volunteers.
•After 6 months of participation volunteers are allowed to :
Mentor a group of new volunteers
Participate in specific educational projects like:
Art exhibition
Preparing a dinner for parents and volunteers
Dance recitals
Participate in specific administrative taskforces
Digital marketing
Volunteer Recruiting
Fundraising
Contacting Companies or other NGOs
•After participating in in one taskforce or one educational project, volunteers can
propose and lead taskforces and educational projects. These projects should be
presented in the quarterly meeting.
•Administrative volunteers would start on a task force before proposing new ones

7. 3 – Engaging with volunteers
Increase the participation of the current volunteers and use their skills to
improve the performance of Terral and to attract other volunteers.
Use Tools to increase engagement and Word of Mouth
•Volunteers’ Facebook Group – Create a Facebook page for volunteers in which they
can share ideas, see the calendar, divulge Terral to their own networks
•Create a Certificate of Participation when a volunteer reaches a certain number of
hours.
•Social Tourism – Have some of the children give tours of Raval. Teach them the history
of the neighbourhood and history of Barcelona. That is an opportunity for them to
generate some revenue for themselves, to promote Terral and to increase
spontaneous donations from tourists
