- TODAY: Leadership for technology in using powerful tools. What does this mean? What does it look like?
- Bold move to have a staff development that uses tech!!!! Kudo’s to leadership. This tends to be when people panic but..... don’t panic. (don’t take and acting gig with children or animal co-stars, and don’t do workshops relying on technology to come through) Don’t panic, we’ll be fine. =)
- Story of School Board Pres yesterday trying to use PollEverywhere.... Superintendent: Mistakes when striving for student growth are encouraged, VISA!! Infrastructure = a ton of time and $ Great people = investment of time and $ Having a superintendent that is willing to say things like.... NOTE IN POCKET [“We can figure out what didn’t work and move on from there”] = People, that’s Priceless. Do you know that?
- Leadership for Technology ---> If you are learning, those around you get learning. If you are excited, those around you can get excited. Cognitive load and self-initiated framing of “relevant” skills. METHOD: Using tools that are: 1) now , 2) used , and 3) exciting . Practical. “Can I use this on Monday?” Technology. Finally, GREAT technology makes you wonder how you lived without it. It’s not tough. Dropbox Story +My Living Desktop +gDocs
- If you have been and educator for the last 3 years and haven’t looked at X.... It’s time to play with it. How easy can it be to get creative? How easy can it be to produce professional products?

- Not as flashy on the big screen because of the nature of the tools. Simple tools with powerful outcomes. How easy can it be to collaborate with 30 people?
- Invisible tools for visible information....
- Multi-peopling...This tech is really about people, not attention.
- Return full circle to the idea of Lifetime Learning.... if there are 21st century skills and you are taking money on behalf of our kids, you have an obligation to commit a couple hours/week being a learner. NOW: Lets do that together! Lets take a couple hours and be learners, not socializers, but committed “LEAN FORWARD” technology learners.
