5. Herzberg's Motivational Theory
Examples of Herzberg's 'hygiene' needs (or
maintenance factors) in the workplace are:-
• Policy
• Relationship with supervisor
• Work conditions
• Salary
• Status
• Security
• Relationship with subordinates
• Personal life
6. Herzberg's Motivational Theory
Herzberg's research identified that true motivators
were other completely different factors, notably : -
• Achievement
• Recognition
• Work itself
• Responsibility
• Advancement
9. 9
No one can stay without action even for a single
moment. The Gunas born of Prakriti (through
attachment and hatred) impel a person to
constantly perform actions.
10. 10
Therefore, perform your duties in daily life. It
is far better to act than to be inactive. By
being inactive, you cannot even maintain the
needs of your physical body.
11. 11
Whatever a great man does, the same is
followed by others. Whatever he sets as an
example, the same the world emulates.
12. 12
One should not unsettle the intellect of those
who are attached to action. A wise man should
gently lead them to action, while he himself
performs actions with a controlled mind.
