6. 1) After lunch, go to the room (or the part of the room) where the question you
want to address will be happening.
2) Individuals can pick the question they would like to focus on…so working group
sized may vary. The rapporteurs are to take notes of their table discussion and
offer a summary later when we are in plenary
3) There will be 1 hour (until 15:30) to discuss a specific question related to the
strategy – we will want to make sure to close the discussions at 15.30 so that
everyone can take a break.
4) When we get back into Plenary at 16.00, a report will be provided and Ania will
moderate
5) At the end of the day we want to make sure to have copies of the notes that were
taken by the rapporteurs

14. Goal 2
 Prepare and promote common projects that allow cooperation between regions and
partners (South-South cooperation).
 Repackage knowledge products in different ways in order to reach other audiences: local
communities, practitioners, etc.
 Enhance GWP role to bridge the gap between science, policy and practitioners.
 Partnerships with leading institutes in generating knowledge at national and regional level
to sustain the capacity building process.
 Linking capacity building and knowledge products to on-going or up-coming national
processes or projects.
 Put in place tools for the monitoring and evaluation of impact.
 Translate knowledge products into the major languages of the network.
 Enhance the use of the Toolbox: partnering with centers of excellence, including in
regional or national databases, have different search filters, include a how to use section,
etc.

15. It is vital for GWP system to work together in order to access and influence the
relevant policy and decision making processes. To this end, GWPO, RWPs, and CWPs
should closely collaborate and coordinate, vertically and horizontally, to make changes
in status quo and business-as-usual towrds water-secure world. Clear-cut demarcation
of roles and mutual help of GWPO, RWPs and CWPs as suggested below will enhance
our effectiveness as policy changers.
 CWPs: Prime actor to make changes at country level as in supporting IWRM plans
and strategies and national development and poverty reduction plans; National
consultation platform for governments and stakeholders;
 RWPs: Coordinator and knowledge platform of CWPs; Supporter in formulation of
Regional/Trans-boundary water plans/strategies; Supporter in forging cooperation
with relevant regional organizations/commissions/frameworks; Interlocutor with
partners out of water box

16.  GWPO: Actor/negotiator in international community (as Observer in UN-GA);
Creater of global message; Lighthouse to guide whole actions of GWP Network;
Supporter (technically, financially and other wise) to RWPs and CWPs (through
RWPs)
Political will for changes will not be created in one day. Partnership wth strategic allies
including political parties, river commissions, universities, and practitioners (e.g. water
utilities), globally and locally shared knowledges and expertese, awareness raising on
our core values such as IWRM, and most of all, dedication of each member of GWP
system should be convened strategically in continuous manners to help decision
makers to take concrete decisions actions towards desirable change. IWRM, our
hallmark, should be kept in spotlight to catalyze changes we desire as in discussion and
policy formulation on poverty reduction and sustainable economic development.
Recent global discussion process on sustainable development as represented by SDG
will provide GWP Network a golden opportunity to help political changes, raise its own
