3. What You Will Need for this Class Ear Buds (each student): Available at the Dollar Tree for $1.00. The kind you would use to listen to an Ipod. Please bring earbuds in a Ziplock bag with your name on it by Monday, September 19. I will keep these in the lab for your child’s personal use with audio activities USB Flash Drive (Optional): Students are required to back up all work. A 4 GB USB Flashdrivecan be purchased for under $10.00 You will be able to upload work to your password protected wiki pages, where it can be accessed by you using any computer that is connected to the Internet. If your you do not have access to the Internet at home, you will need a USB Flash drive for accessing and saving homework.
4. Classroom Community Our classroom is a community. In our community, we have rules to help us get along with each other. Our class rules include: Be respectful and responsible. Be organized and follow directions. Be on time Be prepared.
5. Beginning of Class, Please Do: Do Not: arrive on time take your assigned seat quietly and quickly wipe keyboard and mouse with disinfectant cloth while you are waiting for class to start wait for instructions turn on monitor until told touch keyboard or peripherals until told

7. While in the Lab, Please Do Not: bring food, drinks or gum into the lab bang on keyboards touch the monitor with your hands Do: make sure your hands are clean use all equipment GENTLY keep walk spaces clear of books, backpacks, etc. tell your teacher immediately if something isn’t working

Internet Use Be sure to: Unless directed by your teacher, there is NO: NEVER give out personal information on the Internet Visit only sites that are appropriate and relevant to your assignment Respect all copyright policies for text, graphic, audio and video files E-mailing Chatting Surfing Watching Video Listening to Music

End of Class Save your work as directed Correct folder Correct filename Exit all applications Check for and remove any components you may have plugged in to drives or ports (ear bud, CDs, flash drives, etc) check your workspace (table and floor) and pick up all papers or trash Wait to be told to line up to leave

Assignments Any projects not finished in class are to be completed as homework Any student who loses lab privileges as a result of breaking the rules will be expected to complete all assignments on time as homework. 14. Consequences for Breaking the Lab Rules* 1st Incident - Verbal Warning 2nd Incident – Loss of computer privileges for the rest of the day. Written notice to be signed by parents. 3rd Incident – Loss of computer privileges for the week, sent to Principal’s office. Written notice to be signed by parents. * Additional consequences may include suspension of student’s e-mail, wiki or other online accounts
