Wordle is a really enjoyable tool which creates you different colourful tables in order to use in your lessons as a teacher.Wordle analyses the text and then It chooses the most frequent words in the text. Everybody can arrange their own wordle’s colours and style of letters according to their choices.
Create your own wordle ! This is the first page you will face on your creation way.
The Process of Creation It is very easy to create a wordle table. First choose your text appropriate for your students level, age or background. Then enter the site and press the button create and then this picture will occur
Copy and paste your text here ! You can use URL also
Paste your text here and press the button go ! It will process your text quickly. You can also give the URL like I said before
So your text is ready you can change your colors and font if you wish.
This is a screenshot after the creation . The surrounded buttons with red mean what you can do with your work 1)you can print it 2) you can publish this in a public gallery to show everybody use wordle.
You can omit the other words on the background to find just the most frequents.
Wordle is useful To remember the most important vocabulary in the text. By using most frequent words the learner can understand the text easily. Teacher can produce a dialogue for the students with these words in order to use them properly in the sentences.
By using these key words learners can recall some points about the texts’ content. You can omit the other words on the background to find just the most frequent ones.
How Wordle contributes to the lesson; Teacher distributes hand-outs of these word clouds to the students. Every student has a cloud copy now. They look at the words and try to guess them ,or find the meanings from dictionary. After the activities with the unknown words every student presumably can tell something about his/her text.
So they get an idea about the text. By making prediction they gain control over the text.
My comments about wordle That is very intresting. It gives you a new perspective of looking a text. It’s much easier to digest than reading the whole text. It’s very creative and easy to use.
Wordle produces intresting and colorful word clouds which converts boring text to attractive tools for students. As a teacher I am going to use it in my lessons as much as possible.
