3. Questions & Accusations
God did not create us for
confusion, disorder and
unrest. These are not the
result of God’s plan but
rather the avoidances of
God’s plan.
God’s Plan for Peace
4. “For I know the thoughts
that I think toward you,
saith the LORD, thoughts
of peace, and not of evil,
to give you an expected
end.”
Jeremiah 29:11
God’s Plan for Peace
5. When God gives us the blueprint
for peace and we fail to follow it,
we have no one to blame but
ourselves. We cannot hold God
accountable for our own
actions, attitudes and
adverse behavior. His plan is that
we have peace, confidence and
soundness of mind.
God’s Plan for Peace
6. “For God hath not given
us the spirit of fear; but
of power, and of love,
and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7
God’s Plan for Peace
7. Regardless of the source
of your depression, God
still wants you to have
peace! Biblical principles
are effective regardless
of the cause of
depression.
God’s Plan for Peace
8. “A merry heart doeth
good like a medicine: but
a broken spirit drieth the
bones.”
Proverbs 17:22
God’s Plan for Peace
9. Panic Attack
“ My heart is sore pained within me: and the
terrors of death are fallen upon me. Fearfulness
and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath
overwhelmed me. And I said, Oh that I had
wings like a dove! for then would I fly
away, and be at rest. Lo, then would
I wander far off, and remain in the
wilderness. Selah. I would hasten my
escape from the windy storm and tempest.”
Psalm 55:4-8
God’s Plan for Peace
10. The Power of Prayer
“As for me, I will call upon
God; and the LORD shall save
me. Evening, and morning,
and at noon, will I pray, and
cry aloud: and he shall hear
my voice.”
Psalm 55:16-17
God’s Plan for Peace
11. The Power of Prayer
Before he went to bed, as soon
as he arose and at mid-day
David called upon the Lord in
confidence. His prayers were
not delivered in doubt and
distrust but with the
knowledge that God would
hear his cry.
God’s Plan for Peace
12. The Power of Prayer
“Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my
prayer. From the end of the earth will I
cry unto thee, when my heart is
overwhelmed: lead me to the
rock that is higher than I. For
thou hast been a shelter for me,
and a strong tower from the enemy. I will
abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will
trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.”
Psalm 61:1-4
God’s Plan for Peace
13. The Power of Prayer
David knew that he could
turn to God. Fellowship with
His Saviour became a source
of strength.
God’s Plan for Peace
14. Cast Your Care Upon the Lord
“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and
he shall sustain thee: he shall never
suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Isaiah 55:22
“Casting all your care upon him;
for he careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:7
God’s Plan for Peace
15. Cast Your Care Upon the Lord
The reason we can profitably cast our
cares upon the Lord is because He
cares for us and is able to sustain us.
Prayer does more than exercise
our tongue, it exercises our faith.
Prayer is not simply complaining to
our Creator but rather casting our
cares upon him.
God’s Plan for Peace
18. Cast Your Care Upon the Lord
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he
shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the
LORD. Psalm 27:14
But they that wait upon the LORD
shall renew their strength; they
shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall
run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and
not faint. Isaiah 40: 31
God’s Plan for Peace
19. Consider God’s Love
Our self-worth is frequently
determined by how we feel that
others perceive us. The
perception of others is not a
reliable source for our evaluation
of ourselves. A better resource
would be to look towards
heaven. Certainly no one’s
opinion could rival our Creator’s.
God’s Plan for Peace
20. Consider God’s Love
“Are not two sparrows sold for a
farthing? and one of them shall
not fall on the ground without
your Father. But the very hairs of
your head are all numbered. Fear
ye not therefore, ye are of more
value than many sparrows.”
Matthew 10:29-31
God’s Plan for Peace
22. Consider God’s Love
“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. “
Matthew 10:30
God’s Plan for Peace
23. Consider God’s Love
By expressing God’s concern over
what others might deem greatly
insignificant, Christ taught us
that the Father cares even about
the most minute details of the
most neglected person’s life.
God’s Plan for Peace
24. Consider God’s Love
The key to unlocking a peaceful
heart begins with the
understanding that our identity is
not hopelessly attached to our
environment, our peers or the
events in our lives. Peace comes
from our Saviour not our
circumstances.
God’s Plan for Peace
25. Consider God’s Love
“Not that we are sufficient of
ourselves to think any thing as of
ourselves; but our sufficiency is
of God.”
2 Corinthians 3:5
God’s Plan for Peace
26. Meditate Upon God’s Word
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
Proverbs 23:7
God’s Plan for Peace
27. Meditate Upon God’s Word
The things you see, hear,
discuss and do will be the
things that infiltrate your mind.
There is absolutely no greater
source for godly meditation
than God’s Word! From where
else could we so effectively
learn those thoughts that bring
peace to our souls?
God’s Plan for Peace
28. Meditate Upon God’s Word
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things
are true, whatsoever things are
honest, whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good
report; if there be any virtue, and if
there be any praise, think on these
things.” Philippians 4:8
God’s Plan for Peace
29. Meditate Upon God’s Word
“This book of the law shall not
depart out of thy mouth; but thou
shalt meditate therein day and
night, that thou mayest observe to
do according to all that is written
therein: for then thou shalt make thy
way prosperous, and then thou shalt
have good success.” Joshua 1:8
God’s Plan for Peace
30. Meditate Upon God’s Word
“Mine eyes prevent the night
watches, that I might meditate in thy
word.” Ps 119:148
“I remember the days of old; I
meditate on all thy works; I muse on
the work of thy hands.” Psalm 143:5
God’s Plan for Peace
31. Meditate Upon God’s Word
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect
peace, whose mind is stayed on
thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
Isaiah 26:3

32. Music Makes a Difference
Every film maker understands the value of
the musical score that carries the mood and
message of his script. There is music that
communicates panic and unrest. There is
music that relates doom and despair.
Confusion and chaos can be communicated
as well urgency and fear. On the other
hand, there is music that expresses action
and adventure. We can find melodies that
will calm the heart and grant a sense of
peace.
God’s Plan for Peace
33. Music Makes a Difference
These principles are not only true in movie
soundtracks but also in pop music. The
erotic beats can produce unhealthy sexual
tension, while harsh head banging music
will feed attitudes of rebellion and distress.
An entire genre of music is called “the
blues” for a reason. One ought not listen to
music that simply echoes their own carnal
passions or confirms their feelings of
sadness.
God’s Plan for Peace
34. Music Makes a Difference
A Christian should proactively seek
melodies that will uplift the soul and
produce a worshipful spirit.
Speaking to yourselves in
psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, singing and
making melody in your heart to
the Lord Ephesians 5:19
God’s Plan for Peace
35. Music Makes a Difference
Music has a tremendous power
to sway your heart for good or
for evil. Consider David’s
ministry to King Saul in 1
Samuel 16:14-23.
God’s Plan for Peace
36. Music Makes a Difference
David, the sweet Psalmist of
Israel knew the power of music.
When godly words are
combined with godly music,
you will discover a tremendous
force for emotional well-being.
God’s Plan for Peace
37. Music Makes a Difference
Praise ye the LORD: for it is good
to sing praises unto our God; for it
is pleasant; and praise is comely.
The LORD doth build up
Jerusalem: he gathereth together
the outcasts of Israel. He healeth
the broken in heart, and bindeth
up their wounds.
Psalm 147: 1-3
