@ Reply
An @ reply is a response to another
person’s tweet, and it is shown on both
your timeline and that of the person
mention. @username must be present at
the beginning of the tweet.

Mention
A mention is when a user mentions another
user by typing @username anywhere in a
tweet except for the beginning. Mentions are
only displayed in the author’s timeline, not
the mentioned user’s timeline.

ReTweet
A retweet is like forwarding a tweet. By
typing RT @username in front of the
tweet, it gives credit to the author of
the original tweet.

Direct Message
A direct message is like sending a private
message to another user without it
appearing on anyone’s timeline. By typing
D username at the beginning of the
message, it becomes direct.
