Analytical essay: Coca-Cola

The product being advertised is a fizzy drink called”coke”. The brand name for the
product is Coca-Cola. This name has been chosen for the product because it sounds
fun and energetic. It also uses alliteration to make it more catchy for teenagers to
remember. This is a successful name for the product because it catches your eye
and when you say it, it has a kind of rhythm to it so that it sticks in your mind.

The audience for the product is everyone.

The motive for the advertisement is thirst and they want to be popular.

The main image on the advertisement is all the fun items shooting out of the bottle
of coke. This has been chosen because it suggests that when you drink it your life will
become exciting and full of adventures. The image has connotations of fun,
excitement and refreshment. This would attract the target audience because it is
colourful and fun.

The camera distance used in the advertisement is a long shot. This shot has been
chosen, because you can clearly see everything on the advert. It is a neutral camera
angle so that you can clearly see everything on the page.

The typeface used in the advertisement is basic and clear to read. This has been used
so that everyone can easily read it. It would attract the target audience because it is
easy to read, big and also bold so it catches your eye.

The main colour used in the advertisement is red. The colour red has connotations
of fun, love, friendship and summer. The choice of colours would attract the target
audience because it is a lively colour and it also has connotations of fun. Everyone
always wants to have good fun in their life so this colour really does appear to it’s
target audience.

The logo used in the advertisement is “Coke”. It is written in a very simple and easy
to read font but it is also very big and bold. It is bigger than all the other writing on
the advertisement so it makes it stand out a lot more. This is successful because it is
the biggest writing on the advertisement plus it is written in red so it is really going
to catch peoples’ attention. It would attract the target audience because it is big and
bold so it is very eye catching.

The slogan used for the product is “Open up to the Coke side of life”. This is effective
because it is suggesting that when you drink this bottle of coke it will really refresh
your mind. Your life will become exciting and full of adventures. You will be
refreshed and full of energy throughout the whole day.
The language used in the advertisement is quite simple and there is not too much
writing. The words “open up” have connotations of new things that are going to
happen and which are going to make your life better and more exciting. This would
persuade the audience to purchase the product because everyone wants something
new to happen in their lives plus everyone seeks for fun, excitement and adventures.
Quite simple language and not a lot of writing make us want to read it and then buy
the drink which we will surly all love!
