IoT Showcase Context
Hosted in London on 27th June 2012, the TSB IoT
Showcase was the third and final in a series of
events designed to connect ideas and
conversations across the IoT Convergence
Programme.
Attended by over 80 leaders, journalists and
policy makers, the day was an opportunity to
share the learnings from the 10 projects that took
part in the Internet of Things Convergence
programme, and discuss further support for the
development of the IoT ecosystem.

IoT Showcase Objective
To share the results and learnings from 10 preparatory studies that took part in the
convergence programme, to illustrate and debate the collaborative approach the
projects undertook, and to debate and explore the next steps in support to the
development of the emergent IoT ecosystem.

What we learned
Synthesising all the ideas from the Prototype the Demonstrator session in workshop
2, the ‘Be the first 10%’ storyboard was presented at the Showcase with
recommendations for the various stages of the Demonstrator.

Open Table Discussions
The audience debated and explored key themes that emerged from the day – among
them were control and ownership of data, cross sector synergies, new value chains
and barriers to entry.

Nick Appleyard, Maurizio Pilu, Andrew Tyrer and Graham Hitchen took questions
from the floor about the programme and future TSB investment in the IoT ecosystem.

IoT Amplified
The Showcase was Amplified with liveblogging from the event, audio interviews,
film and comprehensive social media posting, all of which is available online. Our
Tweetreach report showed that we reached over 40,000 Twitter accounts and
generated over 350,000 page impressions.
