In 2002, having identified that areas of its IT system could be better delivered by a Managed

decision was the need for the company to focus its efforts on its core business, not managing
its technology. “We’re here to sell insurance. Everything we do must have that one primary
goal,” explains Richard Corner, Group Operations Director for Giles.
