Sporthotel Leitner, Nassfeld
LOCATION:
The Hotel is situated 800m from the main lift station in Tropolach. This is the very modern Millenium Express opened in 2000. The gondolas take skiers up to 1919m from where they access a wide range of runs. It is possible to ski down to this lift station. The valley is 7.6km long and is mostly a red run ending with a short blue run.
ACCOMMODATION:
The Sporthotel Leitner is a youth hotel, with a total capacity of 350. Students are accommodated in spacious and pleasant 6-7 bedded rooms with bunk beds and a seating area. The en-suite bathrooms have 2 washbasins and a shower and there is a separate WC. Each child has hanging and shelf space for their clothes and a lockable locker for valuables – padlocks can be brought with you or borrowed on a returnable deposit of 5 euros from the hotel.
Staff are accommodated in 2 and 3 bedded en-suite rooms without bunk beds.
MEAL ARRANGEMENTS:
Each group is allocated its own dining room for the duration of their stay. Breakfast is buffet style. After breakfast groups make up their own packed lunch which the hotel then brings to the mountain hut where the groups can eat their lunch. Hot drinks are on tap in each dining room, and are available for the groups from early in the morning and on their return from the slopes.
FACILITIES:
The dining room is also available as a recreation room in the evenings and is equipped with a TV and video for the group’s use. Other facilities include a small shop and bar, table tennis tables, and large sports hall (2000 square metres) with 3 courts that can be booked by the groups. There are two discos in the cellar, one for older students and one for younger students. Pupils organise the music themselves with their own CDs. Each school is allocated an evening when they are the DJs and all groups may attend the disco. By arrangement, one of the discos may be available for just one group’s use. Groups also have the use of an entertainment room on their own corridor.
In the basement there are also various leisure areas including video games, table football and a pool table. Drying facilities and boot and ski storage are also available in the basement.
