April 7, 2013 | Pathshala 10 Year Celebration
Joy and sense of achievement were highly visible on everyone’s faces on April 7th
2013, where we came together
to celebrate 10th
Anniversary of JSNE Pathshala. A milestone of our journey - exceeding 100 student enrolments
in short period of time. A moment to pause and celebrate our achievements. A checkpoint to see if we are on
the right course and make necessary adjustments. A day to recognize the hard work of Pathshala staff, Executive
committees and Sangh members. A day to commit for next ten years and plan to make them even better.
Kids, Students, Parents, Grand Parents, Volunteers, Teachers, Scholars, Pathshala Coordinators, EC Members, Past
Presidents, Founding Members and Visiting Guests all came together on this day as if all colors of the rainbow were
in full display…. More details on Pathshala on following pages.
April 20th
to April 30th, 2013 | Pravachan by Pandit Shri Samirbhai
Samirbhai Pandit who was with us during the 2010 Paryushan visited us to deliver Pravachan series on various topics –
mainly “Gyan Saar” & “Nav Padji”. During pravachan series, more than 25 members on average were attending these
sessions on daily basis despite being weekdays, & summer activities. We are very encouraged and excited about growing
participation from members of different background and age groups and taking advantage of vast knowledge these
scholars bring to our sangh.
May 17 to 19, 2013 | Pratistha 2nd Anniversary
It feels like yesterday to many of us when we did our momentous pratistha ceremony in May 2011. We still remember
those auspicious days where entire sangh’s dream to have our own Derasar became reality. On May 17 thru 19 this year
we celebrated our 2nd
pratistha anniversary with Shri Niravbhai Sanghavi who came from India along with Shri
Kalpeshbhai Shah from VA. Everyone is fond of this ‘jugalbandhi’, Niravbhai’s beautiful voice, mild manners and unique
way to performing the Poojan rituals that give us satisfaction of ‘doing it right’. This year we performed traditional and
very important 18 Abhishek as our yearly ritual as well as the unique, 1st
time in JSNE history as far as I can recall, Shri
Chintamani Parshwanath Poojan. Like we have done in past, members were able to perform the whole poojan on their
own yantras as well as on the Sangh Mandaloo and take their personal yantras home.
July 21, 2013 | Chaumasi Chaudas & Pakkhi Pratikraman
Our members performed traditional “Dev Vandan” & Chaumasi Pratikraman on the Chaumasi Chaudas on July 21st 2013

Sustaining Member Contribution
The responsibility of keeping the derasar clean and maintaining it in the best shape comes with the
ownership. We need community support and contribution for daily upkeep and pay for repairs and utilities.
At the time of Pratishtha Mahotsav, we launched a “Sustaining Membership” drive. We are urging all the
sangh members to become “Sustaining Member” by committing $350.00 per year donation. This is less than
one dollar a day commitment for your derasar. You can pay all at once or in monthly installments. JSNE
volunteers will personally contact you during Paryusan Parv for your commitment. Please make a
commitment to keep up and maintain the derasar in the best condition.
JSNE Pathshala
Summer is almost over and has gone by in a blink of an eye. Hope you all had a great summer and are ready with
renewed energy and enthusiasm to learn and practice Jainism at Pathshala.
It’s been 10 years for JSNE Pathshala. Wow! Congratulations and special thanks to all Pathshala students/families,
teachers, and JSNE Executive Committee for this wonderful spiritual journey. Ten years ago we started this Pathshala
with 30 students in rented temple place and today we have our more than 100+ students attending Pathshala in own
beautiful derasar. During the past year; we once again successfully accomplished many tasks on hand while we
continued to add new dimensions to make Pathshala a better place for students, parents and teachers. Most
importantly, support from the parents, community, hard work of staff and the spirit of our students bring us many
things to be very proud of.
Pathshala activities – In addition to learning Jain Philosophy, rituals, sutras and stutis, Pathshala students
enthusiastically participated in the following activities this past year –
10th year anniversary of our JSNE Pathshala – On Sunday, April 7, 2013, the whole JSNE community came
together to celebrate the 10th
anniversary of Pathshala. This was celebrated on a grand scale with beautiful
cultural programs – dance, skits, drama, etc. More than 100+ students and adults participated in various items.
This was a lot of hard work put on by many choreographers, students, parents and program coordinators over
the last few months. One of the highlight of the program was the recognition of past and present Pathshala
teachers for all their hard work, dedication for teaching Jain values/rites/rituals to students and encourages
them to follow these in daily practices.
JSNE Pathshala Overview at JAINA Convention in Detroit – Nirav Shah and Haresh Mehta presented ‘JSNE
Pathshala Overview’ highlights including JSNE Pathshala activities, structure, etc. among other things at this
convention during July 4th
weekend. This was very well received by attendees of other Pathshala centers.
