Talking points: Diversity and creative synergy are the foundation concepts that make NATF Only a very few other events attempt to bring disparate views together in a way that generates useful outputs. The wide range of inputs that are planned for NATF will be unique
Talking points: There is a great need for a significant yearly event held in the state of Michigan. A properly planned and executed event of this magnitude will assist Michigan in harnessing and strengthening all of its resources in a way that exponentially benefits businesses and communities. With its Science and Technology theme the NATF will bring all the brightest minds, VC firms, visionaries, students, companies, and more to our wonderful state year after year. In addition, NATF is a “see and be seen” event. Michigan is a significant market (both b2b and b2c) and NATF will bring new technologies and their related companies to the public in a most positive way.
Talking points: The Detroit area has many places that could fit in to the overall plan, including: Cobo Hall or the Rock Financial Showplace as an anchor location Ford Field could be used for major, large group elements The Detroit Institute of Art, the Detroit Science Center and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History could be used for selected elements of the program. Theatres, including the Fox, the Gem, The Opera House, etc. Dearborn has both the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, both with strong ties to the area’s traditions of invention and innovation GM, Ford and Chrysler have facilities that could be used for specific elements
Talking Points: All of the exhibitors would be encouraged to “bring their best” As the auto industry knows (using NAIAS each winter), Detroit is a great place to showcase ground-breaking new products, services & offerings.
Talking points: NATF will provide a wide variety of learning and collaboration opportunities, in settings designed to generate real results Informal time periods – receptions, coffee breaks, luncheons will be arranged to encourage networking and deal-making Once the name and presenting sponsors are identified, themes and sub-themes will be tuned to areas of special interest to these important backers (but importantly, will NOT be narrowed to be specific to the sponsors’ industry)
NATF will provide a natural environment for recognition and awards. As described here, it could take the form of a broadcast awards show, with juried prizes in various categories Alternately, it could be developed in a more popular mode, something that would be Innovation Equivalent of American Idol, with online voting for the best of contributors (whose works would be included on NATF’s website)
Talking points: Individuals, organizations and groups participating in NATF are diverse and overlapping. Most people will attend in multiple roles (e.g. as exhibitor or presenter, and as a student, deal-maker or simply an individual interested in learning) Accordingly, most people may be considered as “markets” for at least some of the exhibitors We envision those who participate in the numerous activities we have planned to encompass a wide variety of local, national and global companies, business owners, entrepreneurs, the IT community, artists, technology enthusiasts, students of many levels who are studying Business, Arts, Technology, Science, Education, Philanthropy and Community. Additionally, those who attend the event will likely be people who are in the same categories as the participants shown on the slide may likely sign on to play an active role in future year’s NATFs.
Talking points: The combination of an expo-symposium in a festival environment is truly unique, and will attract media interest based on novelty alone; and the only event that allows companies to interact with very sophisticated audiences as well as the business community We will create a multitude of media partnerships-sponsorships that could generate 100's of Millions of impressions Additionally we will be inviting and informing media from across the globe about the event as well. Since we are driven by the community, our community members, chambers, tech, universities, etc. will be constantly promoting and marketing the NATF because they all benefit from the success. It becomes a platform for all parties to promote and showcase themselves. We will also work with the new breed of Internet Marketing Leaders - Business Groups - Media Organizations - from across the Globe. There are some really ingenious companies and marketers who have viral - word of mouth access to 100's of millions of persons, our event- concept - mission - objective will appeal to them like no other event. Literally - I see the NATF to be the Media Equivalent to Events as the Super Bowl - Olympics are to Sports < Just one idea of 100's in raising funds and awareness for various charities - how much media will a Space Trip Auction to the International Space Station garner? Let alone all the arts - entertainment - visionaries - Etc.. NATF exhibitor space is 50% - 70% less than the competing large shows and operational costs will be reduced via extensive use of volunteers from our community connections. This adds up to a real deal for the exhibitors and assure a high return on their dollars invested

Talking points: There are existing business expos, conferences and trade shows covering the topic of Science and Technology, and some are shown here However, these entities don’t have the broad impact that the all-encompassing NATF will have. Moreover, the majority are not “community-driven” and miss NATF’s robust connections to the Chambers of Commerce, academia, community groups and state and local governments As an aside, TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) has a great name, but they aren’t the only ones who can invent catchy acronyms… The name sponsor will have an opportunity to choose
Talking points: Our implementation team is in place and ready to produce NATF for 2009. This is a highly complex project, and will require 15-18 months lead time to assure a quality event is delivered, with maximum participation by all concerned. Key media partnerships and major sponsorships will be solicited once initial funding is secured. We anticipate major funding from the name and presenting sponsors (e.g. The Rock NATF presented by the State of Michigan), and substantial contributions from sponsors of selected elements (e.g. “Michigan Aeroplex Forum”, presented by Wayne County) Interest levels are high among potential players. Over two dozen different technical, networking, educational organizations, associations and tech related companies have expressed interest and are ready to participate. The concept is received warmly by virtually all who are exposed to it; what’s needed is to get the initial funding in place in order to move it from “what if?” to “where do I sign?”
Our company was founded by myself and my wife Irena Stevanovich. The Stevanovichs have created, owned, worked and managed many complimentary companies in the fields of events, entertainment, business conferences, marketing and more. We will partner with top event managers, producers and suppliers for event logistics and management, including Stephen Millard and the Freeman Company In addition, we have relationships with dozens of national experts who can be called upon to implement the NATF. Our team has studied the marketplace for several years and has established an extensive database of potential strategic alliances.
A commitment for approximately $ 2.9 m., from a major supporter, is required to initiate the project. Initial cash needs would be significantly less, but NATF must be immediately credible, as demonstrated by a 1 st class website and sufficient personnel to be able to actively pursue all partnership opportunities and close agreements to participate Immediately following initial funding, detailed program design work and marketing efforts will commence. These efforts include vital branding and communications strategy work, development of specific programs and offers for consideration by potential sponsors, partners and exhibitors, and preliminary sales work with the community to establish valid “community-driven” credentials Within 120 days, a fully developed program will be made available to thousands of potential exhibitors and partners, and to millions of potential participants. This means the ability to “sign up now”, with “batteries included” and just “some” assembly required.
