Personal Brand Plan Submitted by: Michelle Robertson
Goal:To establish a personal brand that strengthens my professional online presence in preparation for my career in Public Relations.To establish a brand that properly represents my passions of public relations, figure skating, fashion and celebrity entertainment. To create a brand that allows me to continue to evolve and change.
Objectives:Attitudinal: To earn an online respect from influential public relations professionals and online individuals participating in the various social media outlets by January 2010.  Awareness: To generate awareness of my personal brand (including my passions, values and beliefs) in the industry of PR professionals.   Behavioural: To increase the number of hits I receive on my blog , increase the number of followers on my twitter and overall increase the number of contacts in my social media network by January 2010.
SWOT Analysis Strengths   Continuously improved  Creates professional presence Known in the PR world Strengthens social media skills Separates you from individuals  Keeps you up with the changing technology Informed of hot topics in media  Weaknesses  Not all PR professionals use social media My  brand is only beginning, take time to establish Opportunities Tweets that educate others Create interest groups Networking Join professional groups, i.e. CPRS, IABC Write history Setting and achieving goals Mentoring opportunity Threats Too public Hard to separate friends from professional online presence Difficult to  consistently maintain  communication  Nervous to create brand because it may change in the future.

Strategies: - Make use of all of my social media outlets in order to network with PR professionals and gain exposure online. - Utilize this year as a building period to allow my personal brand to evolve and change as I feel appropriate. - Create awareness of hot topics in the areas of interests i.e. figure skating, WestJet, Halifax, Public Relations
Tactics:To become involved in blogs that I am passionate about. To educate those in PR about hot topics going on in the media through Twitter To create a linked-in account in order to connect with PR professionals Develop online relationships with influential online persons through my various online channels Create and online professional resume including writing samples and volunteer involvement on a personal website
Key Messages:- I am an professional PR student eager to take on volunteer and work opportunities to gain experience in the field of PR - am a motivated, hard working individual - I would like to gain exposure to all different areas in PR.- I am very passionate in what I do, i.e. School, Figure skating, fashion- I am educated on how to use social media and excited to continue to improve my abilities- I hope to have a career in the entertainment industry

Personal Brand

  • 1. Personal Brand Plan Submitted by: Michelle Robertson

Goal:To establish a personal brand that strengthens my professional online presence in preparation for my career in Public Relations.To establish a brand that properly represents my passions of public relations, figure skating, fashion and celebrity entertainment. To create a brand that allows me to continue to evolve and change.
  • 3. Objectives:Attitudinal: To earn an online respect from influential public relations professionals and online individuals participating in the various social media outlets by January 2010. Awareness: To generate awareness of my personal brand (including my passions, values and beliefs) in the industry of PR professionals. Behavioural: To increase the number of hits I receive on my blog , increase the number of followers on my twitter and overall increase the number of contacts in my social media network by January 2010.

Strategies: - Make use of all of my social media outlets in order to network with PR professionals and gain exposure online. - Utilize this year as a building period to allow my personal brand to evolve and change as I feel appropriate. - Create awareness of hot topics in the areas of interests i.e. figure skating, WestJet, Halifax, Public Relations

To educate those in PR about hot topics going on in the media through Twitter To create a linked-in account in order to connect with PR professionals Develop online relationships with influential online persons through my various online channels Create and online professional resume including writing samples and volunteer involvement on a personal website

Key Messages:- I am an professional PR student eager to take on volunteer and work opportunities to gain experience in the field of PR - am a motivated, hard working individual - I would like to gain exposure to all different areas in PR.- I am very passionate in what I do, i.e. School, Figure skating, fashion- I am educated on how to use social media and excited to continue to improve my abilities- I hope to have a career in the entertainment industry
