Britain gained power over India from 1707 to 1857 when the Mughal Dynasty fell into chaos. While Britain partially ruled India, it broke relationships and used force to establish control. Positively, Britain established the 3rd largest railroad, introduced new technologies, and improved public health and education. However, Britain also humiliated India, limited its trade and production, took resources, and reduced its political power.
