Buntzen Lake Buntzen Lake is a perfect family outing destination. It is in Port Moody, about an hour drive from Vancouver. The area is maintained by BC Hydro and the lake is actually used to generate electricity. There are many things people can do at Buntzen Lake like barbecue, fish, swim, walk and play with their dog. The trail around the lake is over 50 kilometres long which includes short and long trails. Some trails allow bikes and dogs while others are only for hikers. The picnic area by the lake is spacious and well-equipped. There is an area by the lake just for dogs. Visitors also enjoy fishing from a dock.
