Women in Developing Countries
Have a high risk of contracting HIV/AIDS Receive little or no education
Have a high risk of maternal mortality during childbirth Receive less nutrition and medical care
Get married and have kids at a very young age Have a higher birth rate
Have a higher risk for sexual violence Are denied property rights
Are victims of honor killings Have no legal protection
Have a high risk of sexual exploitation Have no access to sanitary drinking water
2. Violent Situations Women who live in developing countries are
often exposed to dangerous situations like
sexual violence, honor killings,sexual
exploitation, and risk of contraction HIV/AIDS.
Their governments give them no protecion Governmental policy in developing
when violent situations occur. Many times should be changed so that women are

3. Health care needs
Women who live in
developing countries
have increase health care
concerns such as
increased risk for
HIV/AIDS, high risk of
mortality during childbirth,
receive less nutritional
and medical care, and
they have a higher birth
rate.
Along with these inceased
health care risk is a lack
of access to the health
care services, and a lack
of control over decisions
such as health care and
family planning
4. Human rights
Apply to all individuals
regardless of race, sex,
country of origin, religion,
language, etc.
Includes the rights of life,
expression, equality,
education, employment, and
access to food.
This argument would be the
ethical theory rights, and the
ethical principle of justice

What can be done to improve a woman's standard
of living in developing countries?
– provide more opportunities for women to
earn education
– improve access to health care facilities and
family planning services
