Intelligence is not being logically or linguistically great, those are just 2 forms of intelligence. Within these websites, I was able to find articles that state that intelligence comes in different ways as well as finding several creative ways to enhance it.

Description: This website includes various articles about intelligence and ADD/ADHD and it explains how every child is a gifted smart student. http://www.thomasarmstrong.com/multiple_intelligences.htm This website explains how intelligence is not just about being good in linguistics or logic. It discusses how there are 8 forms of intelligence and schools need to recognize that every student is smart. What I like about this website is that it opens up the mind of individuals. It lets us know that every child is a genius and ADD/ADHD is just a term . Teachers need to carry out different teaching strategies to help the student discover their potentials, and students with ADD/ADHD just need better more creative instruction from their teachers. It states that rather than just teaching through the form of linguistics and logical-mathematical, teachers need to use music, cooperative learning, art activities, role play, multimedia, field trips, inner reflection etc to enhance teaching. It is true when it says that students who lack in linguistics and logic end up being called “learning disabled”, where in fact they may be great artists, architects, musicians, naturalists, designers, dancers, therapists, entrepreneurs etc. “ We esteem the highly articulate or logical people of our culture.” I think this quote is true. It’s a shame because we need to recognize that intelligence is broader than we think.

One of the articles here talks about how music is thought to enhance intelligence. The part I found interesting is where it said that scientist found more grey matter in the brains or musicians than in non-musicians. Also just the idea that music can improve your intellect was interesting, as well as the idea that listening to music one enjoys has a positive effect on the person’s cognition. “ They feel these differences are probably not genetic, but instead due to use and practice.” This quote is referring to the difference in gray matter between musicians and non-musicians are not due to genetics, but rather use and practice o f music.

It’s a tool that is great for research. One of the articles in this website called “Building Emotional Intelligence” is about how its important that kids build up emotional intelligence. Some of these include the improvement of self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, responsible decision making, and relationship skills. I liked this article because we are emotional beings. Emotions are the driving force of our actions and beliefs. As the article states, its important to reduce the emotional and physical stress in students so they can build up emotional intelligence and do better in school. “ by increasing children's ability to relax their bodies and boost mindfulness, they become more capable of managing their emotions and demonstrate higher levels of learning readiness”. I believe exactly what this quote says, I do think that by cleansing and improving the well being of individuals, will help them to accomplish more of what they want in life.
