Who do you think of when you hear the word hero? Family members  Friends,  Historical & religious figures,  Celebrities,  Sports icons,  Authors or characters from their stories…
What makes someone a hero? Discuss the characteristics of heroes and role models:
Collage 	We will be incorporating drawing, collage and mixed media.  Drawing is two dimensional mark making.  	A collage is an artistic composition of materials and objects pasted over a surface.	 Mixed Media implies the use of many materials.
Who is your hero? 	Choose someone that you admire as a hero. 			We are going to make collage representation of our heroes using recycled magazine clippings, drawn images and other textural materials of your choice.
Planning Process 		   -Thumbnail 	-Decide on the composition and placement of images. 	-Decide on textural images and media you would like to draw with. 	-Placement. 	Sharpies work best.
Critique Do a short 2 minute presentation of your piece. 	Talk about who you chose and why you chose them. 	Explain your images and your artistic process.
Requirements -Participation in discussion -1 thumbnail sketch -10x13 composition- fill the page completely! -Minimum of 10 collaged images -1 drawing on final piece -Participation in critique- 2 minute presentation
