2. "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations...Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Jesus
3. It’s estimated that just 2% of Christians share their faith. 98% of Christians are doing nothing. “ It is rebellion against God to know what you should do and then do nothing.” Therefore, 98% of Christians are in rebellion against God.
4. Saving the lost is God’s priority. The whole New Testament is basically about one thing… John The Baptist tells people that Jesus is coming and is the way to be saved. Jesus arrives and tells people he is the way to be saved. Jesus sends out the 12 and then later 72 to tell people the way to be saved. After Jesus’ ascent, the apostles convene to decide how to tell people how to be saved. Jesus appears to Paul and commands him to tell the Gentiles how to be saved. Paul travels around telling people how to be saved. Paul writes letters confirming people have understood the way to be saved.
5. And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come. - Matthew 24:14 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. - 2 Peter 3:9-10 In fact God is delaying the end for this very purpose…
6. Today, only 2% of Christians are following the example that turned a house church into the biggest faith in the world. No wonder the UK has been overtaken by secular humanism and subsequently reaped the highest teenage pregnancy rates in Europe, the unhappiest children in the world (UNICEF Report), the highest suicide rates, the highest abortion rates and drug usage of all time, feral youth, an obesity crisis, alcohol abuse, gang culture and violence, the acceptance of homosexual partnerships, a diminishing world status, debt problems, attacks on marriage…
7. The modern church has turned the ‘means’ into the ‘end’. The end product of the early church was always spreading the gospel through teaching and miracles. That was the entire focus. That others might believe and be saved by the gospel that had saved them. Today we have church, hold events, go to seminars… but they are only worth something if they lead to the same end product. These things are only means to build each other up and equip us for the responsibility of spreading the gospel. Spreading the gospel is still the goal.
9. 1. Apathy Wherever there is affluence, there’s apathy. Listen, you women who lie around in ease. Listen to me, you who are so smug. In a short time—just a little more than a year— you careless ones will suddenly begin to care. For your fruit crops will fail, and the harvest will never take place. Tremble, you women of ease; throw off your complacency. Isaiah 32:9-11
10. - Revelation 3:26 "But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! So be diligent and turn from your indifference." The affluence of the UK has perhaps led to complacency. But this is the smaller of the two problems…
11. 2. Fear Fear controls most things that most people do. It is our greatest enemy and Satan’s greatest tool. That is why God’s most frequent command throughout the whole Bible is… “ DO NOT BE AFRAID.” There are over 365 instances of this command in the Bible. The opposite of fear is faith. Live by faith and anything is possible.
12. The goal of the Fuel Project is therefore… To Equip Encourage Embolden Christians to share their faith.
13. How? Most people on the street think that if there is a God and if there is a heaven, they are sufficiently good enough to be allowed in. Therefore, they don’t know WHY they need a saviour! "Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness...“ Proverbs 20:6
14. Until people are made aware of their sin, they will not accept Jesus. “ God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” – James 4:6 While their pride tells them they are already good enough, they cannot be saved.
15. Parable of the Pharisee and Tax Collector ” Then Jesus told this story to some who had great confidence in their own righteousness and scorned everyone else: “Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not a sinner like everyone else. For I don’t cheat, I don’t sin, and I don’t commit adultery. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” - Luke 18:9-14
16. How do we bring humility and awareness of sin?
17. THE LAW I.e. The 10 Commandments So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. - Galatians 3:24 We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers… 1 Timothy 1:9
18. Jesus shows us how… Once a religious leader asked Jesus this question: “Good Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked him. “Only God is truly good. But to answer your question, you know the commandments: ‘You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother. - Luke 18:18-20
22. The Fuel Project aims to encourage 100% of Christians to take this evangelism technique to the streets of Aberdeenshire. The vision is that there might be a day when thousands of Christians swarm the streets of Aberdeen to confront people with the message that could save them. Shake off fear and apathy and get involved by contacting Mark Fairley @ [email_address] Or via Facebook.
23. "Thou shalt not be a victim. Thou shalt not be an oppressor. But most of all, thou shalt not be a bystander."
