통계청은 우리나라의 주요 통계자료를 분야별로 발췌하여 엮은
한국통계연감을 1952년 처음 발간한 이후 이번에 제56호인 2009년판을
발간하게 되었습니다.
이 연감에는 정책수립의 기초가 되는 우리나라의 국토, 인구, 경제,
교육, 문화, 보건, 환경 등 각 분야의 통계자료가 수록되어 있습니다.
이번 호에서는 보다 다양한 통계자료를 제공하고자 농림어업 ,
도소매 서비스업, 정보통신, 에너지, 보건 등에 정부 승인통계 29종의
통계표를 추가 수록하였습니다.
이 연감에 수록한 자료는 국가통계포털(http://kosis.kr)에서 디지털
간행물로도 이용할 수 있습니다.
아무쪼록, 이 책자가 이용자 여러분에게 많은 도움이 되기를 바라며,
연감 발간에 필요한 각종 통계자료를 제공해 주신 관계기관과 관계자

4. PREFACE
The KOSTAT publishes the 2009 Korea Statistical Yearbook, the
56th edition.
This publication contains general information on the nation's land,
population, economy, education, culture, health, environment, and other
areas of interest. The compiled data and statistics are the basic materials
for the government's policy making.
This edition comprises more statistics than the last one by 29 kinds of
statistics (Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Wholesale Retail Trade and
Services, Information & Telecommunications, Energy, Health, etc.).
Please visit the statistical information website(http://kosis.kr) of
the KOSTAT for digital publication.
We hope this most recent edition will help statistical users understand
the current trends of Korean society through major statistical indicators.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to those who have

1. 한국통계연감은 정부 각 부처 및 주요기관에서 작성한 통계를 종합
편집한 것으로 각 통계표마다 그 출처를 주기하였습니다.
2. 최신 자료를 수록하기 위하여 해당기관의 홈페이지에서 공개하고 있는
자료를 참조하였으며, 해당기관의 사정에 의하여 자료 및 접근경로는
갱신될 수 있습니다.
3. 국제통계연감, 한국통계월보, 월간국제통계 등 다른 종합통계간행물의
각 통계표 정보를 함께 수록하여 통계자료를 쉽게 이용할 수 있도록
하였습니다.
4. 통계수치 중 세목과 총계(또는 합계)가 각각 반올림된 경우에는 세목의
합계와 총계가 일치하지 않을 수 있으며, 일부 자료의 경우 주요 항목만
발췌하여 작성한 경우 계와 항목 간 자료의 합계가 일치하지 않는 경우가
있습니다.
5. 전년 호와 일치하지 않는 통계자료는 이번 호에서 정정된 것입니다.
6. 통계표에 사용된 부호의 뜻은 다음과 같습니다.

6. EXPLANATORY NOTES
1. Figures appearing in this volume are obtained from government
agencies and other public institutions as given at each table. And the
sources of data are provided under the statistical tables.
2. We referred to the data released on the homepage of the institutions
concerned to collect the up-to-date data. However, the access routes
can be changed and related data can be revised by the agencies and
institutions concerned.
3. The ‘Appendix’ contains statistical table information extracted from 3 kinds
of general publications (International Statistics Yearbook, Monthly Statistics
of Korea and Monthly Bulletin of International Statistics) that the KOSTAT
provides.
4. Rounding brings about discrepancies between the total and the summing
of all items. Some tables cover only major items. In this case users may
find discrepancies between the total and the summing of major items.
5. Inconsistencies may occur between the present volume and preceding
series due to revision.
6. Symbols used in tables are as follows:
