troops were recognized for their bravery and
strength

• One of the heroes of the Revolution was named Haym
Salomon; he supplied American troops in central New York.
• Francis Salvador was a Jewish patriot who was involved
with politics; he was the first Jew to die in the American
Revolution, too.
