  victims of 9/11 and those who rose in service in response
  to the attacks.
 Engage millions of people in charitable service on the 10th
  Anniversary of 9/11; document at least one million service
  commitments
 Build 9/11 into a significant annual catalyst for ongoing
  citizen engagement in remembrance of the 9/11 victims
  and heroes.

 Nearly 70% of all Americans said they are interested in
  paying tribute on the 10-year Anniversary of 9/11
   – All we need to do is provide the opportunity
   – 60 percent of participants in prior years described
     themselves as “new” or “relatively new” to
     volunteering – a tremendous opportunity
 Activities can include service projects, promoting your
  cause to donors, or simply driving people to 911day.org

9/11 Tribute Campaign
 Millions of Americans will be invited to participate in the
  single largest day of charitable service in U.S. history in
  observance of 9/11
   – Individuals and groups will be asked to post online
     pledges to dedicate time on 9/11 to good deeds
   – Our website and Facebook pages will gather tributes,
     creating a unique “digital quilt”
   – Tribute Cards will be handed out to individuals through
     NFL, select sports venues from 8/30 to 9/11

Nationwide Projects
 Large scale service projects in 24 major cities
   – Signature events in NYC, Boston, DC, and San Francisco
   – 20 large scale projects in many other major cities
 Powerful and growing partnerships:

     (largest mall operator), Facebook, Google, Nat’l Assn of
     Broadcasters, and many others
 Lesson plans for more than 1,000,000 teachers

Remembrance Tips
 Discuss why the 9/11 community supports the idea of
  Sept. 11 being observed as a day of service and
  remembrance
 Consider dedicating your “tribute project” to a 9/11 victim
  or victims by name, or to a group you wish to honor
  (firefighters, military, etc.)
   – Hand out a Tribute Card about the person(s) you have
      chosen to honor this year (change each year)
   – Visit NY Times “Portraits in Grief” for bios on those lost
   – Voices of Sept. 11 and Legacy.com also have info
