EventManager is a tool that notifies users when events of interest occur based on event specifications defined by the user. It is part of a larger Active Environments project that provides asynchronous awareness about who and what is happening. The EventManager architecture consists of an Active Environment Server that manages event specifications and notifies clients when triggered. The EventManager Client allows users to define, edit, activate, and deactivate event specifications describing people, locations, relationships, and actions. Notifications are provided visually and audibly when event specifications are triggered.
