2. This summer my parents and I went to Wolf Park in Battleground, IN. At Wolf Park I got to observe live wolves in some semblance of their natural habitat. I have never seen a cougar, but one of my favorite animals are the big cats. MyExperience

4. Cougars have one of the largest ranges of any large terrestrial mammal. From the Yukon (Canada) in the North to to the Southern Andes in South America. Cougars eat deer, elk, bighorn sheep, domestic cattle, horses and sheep as well as rodents and insects. Where/What do Cougars live/eat?

5. Wolves live just about everywhere in the world, but mostly in the Northern regions. Wolves also eat large prey mammals such as deer, elk, as well as domestic animals such as pigs, sheep, and cattle. Where/What do Wolves live/eat?

6. How do cougars hunt their Prey? Cougars are carnivores meaning they only eat meat. Cougars kill prey every two weeks (without cubs) or every three days (with cubs) Cougars are not scavengers but more opportunistic hunters, if a carcass is left unattended then the cougar will eat from it. Cougars are ambush predators. It stalks its prey through trees, ledges and other covered areas before leaping onto the preys back and suffocating it.

7. How do wolves hunt their Prey? Wolves hunt in Packs that usually consist of six to ten individuals. A single wolf can devour 2o pounds (9 kilograms) of meat in one sitting. A pack could potentially devour 120 (54) to 200 (90) pounds (kilograms) of meet in a sitting Wolves can go up to 2 weeks without eating. Wolves chase down their prey till the prey is too tired to run and then kill the prey by suffocation.

9. In researching this subject, I noticed that both animals where adapted to the way they collected food. It didn’t seem that either animal got more food than the other. It doesn’t matter whether an animal hunts by itself or with a pack. WhichisBetter? ToHunt in aPack? orbyoneself?
